THQ Unveils ``Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick’’ At Electronic Entertainment Expo New Game Based on Cult Horror Film Coming to PlayStation 2 and Xbox in 2003 Bruce Campbell, Star of the "Evil Dead" Trilogy, to Appear at THQ Booth on Friday, May 24 LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 21, 2002-- THQ Inc. (NASDAQ:THQI - News) today unveiled the next game in its "Evil Dead" franchise at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles. "Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick" is based on the "Evil Dead" movie trilogy that earned a cult following among millions of horror fans. "Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick" is developed by VIS Interactive and will be available for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft in early 2003. Bruce Campbell, the star of the "Evil Dead" trilogy and voice of Ash in "Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick," will be appearing at the THQ booth (Petree Hall #4001) on Friday, May 24 from 11 AM - 12:30 PM for autograph signings and photos. "Collaborating with THQ on the development of ’Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick’ has been a great experience," said Bruce Campbell. "The ’Evil Dead’ universe translates perfectly to a compelling interactive experience so fans can look forward to destroying hordes of Deadites on their PlayStation 2 and Xbox." "’Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick’ will continue the storyline of the classic ’Evil Dead’ trilogy while offering non-stop action complete with Ash’s signature humor," said Michael Rubinelli, vice president of product development, THQ. "With more than fifty characters onscreen at one time, ’Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick’ truly captures the feel and experience of the ’Evil Dead’ movies." Developed with the full support of creators Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert, and Bruce Campbell, "Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick" allows players to assume the role of Ash, the chainsaw-armed hero from the "Evil Dead" trilogy. Players will fend off hordes of Deadites with several weapons including the shovel, gatling gun, shotgun and chainsaw. Massive game environments include all new "Evil Dead" locations as players attempt to save the town of Dearborn from the influence of the Necromonicon ex Mortis -- the Book of the Dead. "Evil Dead: A Fistful of Boomstick" mixes the comedy and fun of a campy horror movie with intense combat missions for the most complete "Evil Dead" game yet.
