The Godzilla of ConsolesI guess my girlfriend was lying to me, size really does matter! Well that is what the Asian press think of the Xbox. Many Japanese game media are very sensitivity towards the size of their *ahum* consoles, but what gamer isnt.
Ed Fries and J Allard were asked by Game Watch, if they thought the Xbox was "a little big for Japanese living rooms". Their reply was:"With factors like cooling to consider, we had to give the system some space. We decided on this final design after receiving feedback from 120 families and over 5,000 game players from across the world."
John ORourke, Xbox game marketing director had more of a diplomatic approach with the interview with GameSpot Japan. When the interview turned towards the controller, he said that, "although great mounds of time and money were spent on researching the pads design, "its possible we may redesign it slightly for Japanese users, upon further research".
If what was stated above is going to happen, Microsoft is well on their way in making the Xbox a truly worldwide sensation.
