New APC Product To Protect Xbox’s

American Power Conversion (APC) announced today a new line of Microsoft licensed power protection equipment specifically designed for the Xbox(TM) video game system from Microsoft. The protection equipment provides Xbox gamers with additional security for their videogame console against the dangers of power surges, spikes and even lightning. The new line is composed of a basic seven-outlet surge protector, a more advanced eight-outlet surge protector with built-in data-line protection for online gamers, and a unique game system storage and surge protection product called the Xbox Game Manager. "Xbox is one of the most advanced and powerful game systems on the market today given its substantial hard drive, built-in network interface card and incredible sound and graphics capabilities," said Joe Loberti, general manager of APC's Consumer Network Solutions group. "And like any sophisticated electronic system, it can be susceptible to damage as a result of everyday power surges, spikes and lightning. APC's new line of Xbox power protection equipment protects Xbox gamers from these dangers." Both the seven and eight outlet surge protectors offer enough surge protected power outlets to protect not just Xbox, but also the other components of a home entertainment center including the TV, DVD player, VCR, stereo system and other sensitive electronic equipment. The eight-outlet surge protector has built-in COAX and telephone protection jacks to protect against surges traveling over DSL/Cable modem lines. "We believe the new line of Xbox surge protection devices from APC is a wise accessory choice," said David Hufford, group marketing manager from Microsoft. "The peace of mind and quality protection the APC Xbox line of surge protectors brings means gamers can concentrate on one thing; enjoying their Xbox games." The new Xbox Game Manager device takes protection of Xbox a step further by not only providing six surge protected power outlets and data-line protection for online gamers (GMX6VN model only), but also features safe and organized storage of up to 20 games, four memory cards and two controllers. Each Game Manager comes with two portable travel modules that allow you to safely and conveniently carry your games and memory cards with you wherever you go. And for those who prefer it, up to eight games can be neatly stored in their original cases within the Game Manager. The new Xbox line of surge protectors comes with a lifetime product warranty and a lifetime Equipment Protection Policy (EPP). If properly connected equipment is ever damaged by a power surge, APC will pay to repair or replace that equipment (please see policy for details). APC's new Xbox surge protection devices are currently available in North America and range in price from $14.99 to $49.99 USD. For more information about APC, and its other innovative solutions please call 800.877.4080 or visit APC's website at www.apc.com. Thanks to Matt N. for the heads up!
