DC Games on the XBOX?
According to the guys over at Gamers.com, a credible source (dontcha just love those inside contacts!!) has information stating that the XBOX will have hardware that allows Dreamcast titles to be played with no other hardware required. Reportedly an announcement will be given by Uncle Bill himself at the Tokyo Game show to be held on March 30th. According to the source the hardware is not totally finished in the development department, but they states that the DC chipset is already incorporated into the XboxWhile Microsoft and Sega have both denied the rumors, this announcement could certainly stir things up in the console world. While the first gen Playstation has the most titles and the sales well over the DC and the N64, currently the Dreamcast has better quality titles and more advanced hardware than Sonys follow up Playstation 2. Since its launch the sales have been slacking for the PS2, and along with a lackluster list of titles currently available, some gamers are looking for other sources of gameplay. If the XBOX "were" to support DC titles directly out of the box, the sales would be both beneficial to Microsoft and Sega with Microsoft reaping the rewards of XBOX sales and Sega racking up in DC titles flying off the shelves.
You can check out the breakdown of this rumor over at Gamers.com. Its worth the click!
