Seraphim InterviewThe guys over at Msxbox had a chance to grill Brian Babendererde over at Valkyrie Studios about their upcoming title Seraphim. You can click here to check it out. As always heres a taste of the article.
MSXbox: How is the combat handled? It seems that flying angels of various devotions would be hard to handle.
Valkyrie: The characters controls are exactly the same for each clan, although their unique strengths and weaknesses will change the way that each is played. For example, the Angels are the fastest flyers, while the Fey are slow, but they make up for this by being better spell casters. As far as the controls go, we have taken a simple approach to flight that allows anyone who has ever played a first person shooter to pick up the game and immediately start playing, while at the same time opening up whole new avenues of game play in 3 dimensions. The game has an auto-targeting feature that allows the player to concentrate on flying, dodging, acrobatics and dogfighting, rather than on being super accurate with his spells. Our goal here at Valkyrie is always to build a simple interface that allows the player to easily tap into the game’s more complex possibilities.
