Microsoft Reports Q4 Financial Results
Microsoft Corp. has issued figures from its fourth quarter and full 2004 fiscal year, which both wrapped up on June 30, 2004. In its fourth quarter, Microsoft saw net revenue rise to $9.29 billion, up 15.0 percent from $8.07 billion one year ago. Net income was $2.69 billion ($0.25 per diluted share) versus net income of $1.48 billion ($0.14 per diluted share) in the same period one year earlier. In its full fiscal year, the company had net revenue of $36.84 billion, a jump of 14.0 percent from the previous year’s $32.19 billion. Net income was $8.17 billion ($0.75 per diluted share) this year, opposed to last’s $7.53 billion ($0.69 per diluted share). Microsoft’s Home and Entertainment division, which houses the Xbox business, had revenue of $499.0 million in the quarter and $2.88 billion for the full year. Those numbers compare to $483.0 million in the last fiscal year’s fourth quarter and $2.75 billion in FY 2003. An operating loss of $1.1 billion was realized in the sector in the fourth quarter, versus an operating loss of $1.6 billion one year earlier. For the full year, the Home and Entertainment division had an operating loss of $4.7 billion, up from the $3.7 billion loss in the company’s 2003 fiscal year.Source: http://www.gamedaily.com
