Iron Phoenix Gets Xbox Live Support

Sammy Studios has announced that their upcoming title Iron Phoenix, the first ever 16-player online fighting game, will utilize Xbox Live 3.0 functions. These functions will allow players to form teams as well as organize and host tournaments. The game, which already places an emphasis on squad-based play and strategies, will only be further enhanced by the capabilities of Xbox Live 3.0. "The game’s online multiplayer mode is designed to be team-oriented, very much like popular online FPS games, yet ’Iron Phoenix’ is a fighter at its heart," said Tim Hess, producer on "Iron Phoenix," Sammy Studios, Inc. "We know that ’Iron Phoenix’ is going to foster intense competition, and therefore we have always thought it essential to make performing tasks like creating clans and populating and hosting tournaments as easy as possible. Xbox Live 3.0 features facilitate this, letting players get to what matters most - experiencing 3D fighting on a battle scale with 15 other players." Here are some of the key features from Iron Phoenix
  • Combines online first person shooter tactics with lightning fast 3rd person melee action for the very first time
  • Become one with 9 spectacular weapons, each imbuing the fighter that wields it with unique moves and combos
  • Engage in combat or strategize with teammates over voice chat, with up to 15 other players from around the world via Xbox Live or System Link
  • Execute bone-crushing moves based on centuries-old, battle tested Chinese fighting styles, motion-captured from China’s finest martial artists
  • Unleash your Chi Energy Powers to run on walls, leap huge distances and unleash unstoppable attacks. Join with team mates to strike at the enemy with stunning team combos
  • Choose from a varied group of playable characters, each with their own reason for fighting
  • Engage your enemies in stages inspired by the landmarks of ancient and mythical China, such as the Great Wall and around the remains of a once powerful dragon
  • Fight your way through a classic tale rooted in ancient Chinese lore in the comprehensive story mode
