Pre-E3: Remedy Has Surprise In Store
Pre-E3 2005: Remedy to Reveal New Title April 21, 2005 - Finnish developer Remedy Entertainment, the team behind the first two Max Payne games, announced today it will reveal a new, still-secret title at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, taking place next month in Los Angeles. While the developer reveals that the new title is in development for next-generation consoles and the PC, Remedy is keeping game details a mystery until next month's show. One thing's almost certain, however: this won't be Max Payne 3. Today's announcement says the developer has "kept a strict focus on the pre-production of a new game franchise of their own design." Further, Remedy's website prominently features the words "It'll be something new," right beneath the company logo. Why is Remedy being so hush-hush? "Focus is important to us," commented Lead Game Designer Petri Järvilehto. "We want to minimize distractions and to concentrate on making the best possible game. We felt that now would be the perfect time to give everyone a first look of what we've been up to. Once we get back from E3 we will pull down the shades, close the doors and get back to work." Remedy is has not announced a publisher for the new title. In fact, the developer is funding development itself. "For a small, independent developer we are in a rare position of being able to maintain our own vision of what a perfect game is about. We are uncompromising and passionate about our work," said Järvilehto. The new title will be shown as part of ATI's E3 booth.Source: http://www.ign.com
