Microsoft Confirms World Cup Xbox 360 Bundle
Back in April, Microsoft confirmed that Japanese gamers would be able to get their hands on a limited edition Xbox 360 bundle to celebrate the 2006 FIFA World Cup. Packaged with a limited edition faceplate, the system would also come with EAs official game of the tournament, and would be the latest product of Microsofts partnership with adidas. Today Microsoft has announced that a similar package is now available in the UK, and although the deal comes with a Core System rather than the premium Xbox 360, it too will include EAs 2006 FIFA World Cup and the limited edition faceplate. A replica of the official football to be used in the tournament also forms part of the bundle. The bundle is just one example of Microsoft gearing up for this years World Cup, with the official England song "World At Your Feet" available to download from the Marketplace, and a competition "Whats In Your Locker?" in association with drinks manufacturer Britvic, also in full swing (winners can win an Xbox 360 every 90 minutes with Pepsi). Stephen McGill, Head of Marketing Xbox & Games commented: "Forget about Ronaldinho and Ronaldo, weve got the greatest partnership in world football. The strategic partnership of Pepsi and Xbox is one of our biggest and most exciting promotions ever." McGill added: "As official console of the FIFA World Cup, World Cup fever has gripped the nation and many fans will be re-creating World Cup moments on the top football titles available on the Xbox 360, the most advanced console on the market." The limited edition Xbox 360 World Cup bundle is currently retailing for £259.99.Source: http://www.totalvideogames.com/
