Assassin’s Creed II Sells 1.6 Million
Assassins Creed II sold 1.6 million copies worldwide in its first week of availability, according to estimates from publisher Ubisoft.
In doing so the Xbox 360 and PS3 title outpaced opening week sales of 2007s Assassins Creed by 32 per cent. The original game has sold over eight million units.
"Assassins Creed remains the fastest selling new videogame intellectual property ever in the US," said Ubisoft.
Earlier this week Assassins Creed II debuted in second place on the UK all formats chart behind Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
A PC version of the game is due for release in the first quarter of 2010.
