"I play mostly rhythm guitar, but I am also trained in classical guitar, and a little of lead guitar playing.
Anyway, I was really excited about this game because I had played a little bit of it back at CES earlier this year. To finally be able to spend time with the game was really a prospect I was looking forward to."
Overall: Very Fun game. Takes some getting used to. The practice mode is excellent. You can slow down any song to practice any part at different speeds. The guitar feels pretty real once you get used to the smaller size. I actually play a REAL guitar {gasp} I can say for a fact that I have noticed improvements in my timing, rythm, and creativity. If you've never played a guitar before, this game would help you improve your hand-eye, and finger work. I wish I knew how to use all five of my fingers when I started playing a guitar. If you think you MIGHT like this game but your not sure, then you WILL like this game, GET IT! Gameplay: Simple concept. Match the notes as they appear on screen. The notes become faster and more complex the higher the difficulty. Concentration is key, even on lower diff you must hit notes exact, but you can mess up quite a bit before your "rock meter" bottoms out and you get booed off stage. 4 difficulty settings go from simple to insanely hard but the teaching modes are awesome. The game is so fun that you get sucked right in { Slash solo pose } The songs are fun and range in variety, just enjoy the songs they chose and roll with it. You can't play every song to start, you must earn the right to play big gigs by working your way up. Work the whammy bar to get the crowd in a tizzy. I was impressed that the game includes hammer ons and finger lifts. Nail that lightning fast solo, leave' em screaming for an encore. This game rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! {pun intended} I'm 29 freakin years old and this game is so tight I feel like a kid again when I play it. It's not a real guitar so just play it for what it is, A GAME! Graphics: The visuals are entertaining, not great. Your so busy staring at notes that you would'nt even notice the panties hitting the ground beside you { eeewwww MOM!!!! } Sound: The MUSIC sounds great ALL the time. Some songs are done by the original artists like Primus and The police, and these sound great. On the other hand whoever won the office bet to sing Rage, G&R and Ozzy were pretty bad. Suggestions: Make a game where dreams are reality but the only reality is that your dreams are are just an illusion created by being awake! Not sure that would be a good game { at all! } but it would keep everyone busy!
Overall: This game is a rhythm game from the makers of Amplitude and Frequency. So you know this game is gonna be be good. The developers have three award-winning games under their belt. This game breaks a new genre into the world of 360 gaming. It's fantastic. Gameplay: As I mentioned before, this is a rhythm-based game that gives you a guitar, or a controller, and pits you up against a wave of buttons you must strum to coencide with the song you are playing. It's very stylized, and it does break barriers. Graphics: This is the soft spot of the game, but what else can you expect from a rhythm -based game?I mean the graphics are certainly not ground-breaking, but they get the job done. They are certainly better than the PS2 version, though. Sound: This game has great sound, of course. It features some really nice tracks. Freebird, Strutter, Heart-Shaped Box, War Pigs, Carry On Wayward Son, the list goes on and on. They have a mix of classical (Carry on Wayward Son), punk, (Dead) heavy, (Beast and the Harlot) (Hangar 18) and also some alternative rock. Suggestions: Keep up with the downloadable content guys! Make it cheaper as well.
Overall: This is Definitly my favorite game on the PS2. It never gets boring.I am very good at this game. I am on Expert Career right now.
Gameplay: The Gameplay is just like the first one. Strum and hold down fret button at the same time. One thing that I liked was all the new guitars and outfits you could unlock. I like the Snakoctapuss or something like that. Graphics: Good, but visuals arent one of the big things for this game. Even though the charecter Desighn is very good, I don't really care for them. I just love the gameplay. Sound: I like the songs on this game, but I don't think the song list was as good as the first one. Suggestions: I would like, in guitar Hero 3, to have all the songs from the first and second one, to be on the third one, including some new songs.
