Overall: Dead to Rights was enjoyable. Gun battles and hand-to-hand battles were great in this game. Have human shields, use your K-9 to attack enemies when they least expect it. Or go around throwing flammable canisters to get ride of people fast. Gameplay: Gameplay, I thought was great. Game kind of reminded me of some arcade games with the gun attached to the arcade machine, where tons of people jump out at you and you have to shoot away. This game is sort of like that but quite different, since you have a variety of things you can do in this game. Graphics: I also didn't think this was the best. Everything looked ok, I just think if this game had better graphics it would of made a stronger game. Sound: No complaints here. It had decent music, and you actually have guys talking from time to time throughout the game. Suggestions: I would suggest better graphics, and more variety of guns and other things to do. Also a more 'free game' where you can go freely around the city when not on missions would be great. Or atleast getting into cars and so fourth atleast.
Overall: A story of pain, revenge, and just making your enemy's mother wish they were never born. This game is awesome and somewhat similar to Max Payne yet it is able to pull it off by making its own identity. Everything about the game was incredible and it was truly an experience that any and every gamer would enjoy. Gameplay: A slew of weapons at your disposal, a faithful K-9 at your side, and enough moves to make enemies think twice before getting to close. Plus, adding to your arsenal, BULLET TIME! I like how it was incorporated into the game. The hand to hand combat was just excellent and it actually took combos to be effective and not just button mashing. Then add in Shadow, your furry friend, and you are unstopable. The levels were so fun to play but at times, it could get repetitive(especially with the enemies). Minigames can be found througout that add the break in the action that the game needs and at just the right times. This game has the perfect mix of each element to deliver an extremely fun game to play. Graphics: Nice visuals througout the game. The enemies were extremely repetitive. It seemed like they only made 3 different models and then added bosses. In spite of all that, the cut scenes were insane. The graphics in these clips looked almost real at times. They all provided for some exciting and adrenaline pumping moments. Sometimes I just put the game in to see how sweet some of the clips are. Sound: The guns could've sounded more realistic and most of the sounds sounded very acoustic. Not really my pot of tea. As far as the music goes, it could have been better. Some levels had crapy music but others had some upbeat and "in the moment" type of music. Suggestions: Good luck with the sequel, although I don't really know what story you have for it...
Overall: In Dead to Rights, you take the role of a cop looking for revenge to his fathers death, named, none-other than... Jack Slate. While diving in slow motion, shooting every living thing that happens to cross your raging line of fire...besides, your dog, ovcourse, but any ways... ohh, who am i kidding, i cant pull off this dramatic stuff, so ill just stop there, and leave your minds open to ponder. Gameplay: Like i had mentioned, the addition of adding slow motion to a classic-style 3rd person shooter, is a nice touch, and quit enjoyable to watch, but also, at the same time, helpfull as well. But the seemingly great goodie extras dont just stop there because you are also accompanied by your loyal companion...*drumm roll please*...ok, i forgot his name, but he's a dog, so that should tell you enough right there. So overall the game is pretty fun the first time through, but gets pretty old after that. Ohh, i almost forgot, the controls are overall pretty solid but i, personally think could have improved. Graphics: Since Dead to Rights is also available for the gamecube and playstation 2 as well, it does not take its fullest advantage of the xbox's power, but still is a rather, average, game that doesnt hurt the eyes to look at. Sound: The title has some rather nice gun effects but also, just as good environmental noise effects as well. So it is, overall a solid game when it comes to sound. Suggestions: By adding a kind-of GTA type of engine to the game, It could be one of the best.
Overall: The Max Payne wannabe. While the story is ok, not nearly as dark or gripping as Payne. The hand to hand fighting adds a new dimension, sometimes rife with frustration(prison levels). Gameplay: The controls are ok, but going between hth and shooting can cause trouble. The jumping and some movement skills needed cause lots of frustration in certain areas. Graphics: Not much detail was used and many enemies look like clones. Even the bosses were not given much time, yet some levels done ok if not in a somewhat conservative manner. Sound: The shots, explosions and voices are clear, but the hth and some little sounds (neck, ribs crakcing, etc.) could be a bit better. Suggestions: Find new gameplay elements to include to set it apart from Max Payne, or else the title will be second rate before it's sequal release.
Overall: this game is fun,it,s a combination of a
third person shooter and figthing what
makes it interesting to play,. Gameplay: the gameplay is the strongest point of
this game, lots of figthing going on,i love
the prison action, you will get to fight with
almost every single inmate at prison, the
shooting part is to easy to skill, nothing
hard, but after all is a good game. Graphics: this game probably have the worst
graphics i ever experience,i know some
games like blade 2,bloodrayne,medal of
honor, etc. have some of the worse
graphics,sorry but NAMCO needs to
work hard to make games look better,so
much better . Sound: the sound is always good, because is on
xbox and besides i have a good
speakers and a surrounding conected to
my hdtv. Suggestions: just work on the graphics,i don,t care if
you make this game for the ps2,but at
least take adventage of the power of the
xbox,so you will make more money and
have a better reputation about your
work..
Overall: Not a bad game. It had lots of different ways to kill people and you can pick-up lots of different weapons. The graphics are not the best, but they are good enough. Gameplay: I liked the controls and had fun killing bad guys. I liked picking explosive bottles up and then throwing them at someone and blowing it up before it gets to them. Graphics: could have been better but the were good enough. The camera could have been a little bit more friendly but I did not mind that much Sound: Ok music and good explosive noises. The sound was a little above average. But it made the game move along
Overall: Great Game. The mini-me of Max Payne if you will. I got this game for only 16.82 @ walmart. Long and challenging. Gameplay: Never really got bored. It is a great challenge even for the best gamers. Has an arcade kind of feel when you lock in on targets etc. Shadow, the dog, actually is a necessity if you wanna survive...Like max payne but with a tuned-down "Bullet time" but has other features like using people as human shields! Great fix for max payne fans who cant wait till max payne 2 comes out. Graphics: Looks a little playstation 2 esque. Stil looks good.....would of been better if the bodies stayed on the screen Sound: Good sound.....i wish the weapons would of been a little louder though....Overall solid... Suggestions: If you come out with a second one dont make so many bombs you have to detenate also add some more martial arts move
Overall: This game has stunning graphics , realistic fighting , and a awesome stroy line. This game is about a canine unit and the cop's dad is killed. And the cop and his faithful dog companion ( Shadow ) go to avenge his father and to serve justice. Gameplay: Gameplay in this game is intense , you can do any thing from defuse a bomb to telling your dog to attack. Every minute of the game is filled with action whether it be fighting a guy with fists or throwing a gas can at a guy and shotting it in mid air to make a boom. Graphics: Four words , cant get any better. This game has graphics that compete with splinter cell. Every thing looks so real from the carpet on the ground to the sutomatic weapons. Sound: The sound , now thats a story. The sound is incredible. You can hear every thing from a leaf that hit the ground to a bomb going off in the distance. Suggestions: Just one thing , make a 2nd dead to rights !
Overall: Your regular action game, where there are the baddies with money and the poor thugs. Of course you kill them all. It's pretty intense, It will make you sweat and make your hearth beat faster. Gameplay: It's only ok....Jack moves too weirdly, and the guns need more detail, the graphics really suck..they should work on that, Graphics: The graphics suck big time, this is not a XBOX game, this should have been a Dreamcast game..not even the fmv sequences are any good they are ugly, I was disappointed when playing this game, because of the graphics...The stripper looks gross... Sound: it's allright, the bullets sound kool, but the voice acting is terrible, they paid bums to do that.. Suggestions: Make a completely different game.
Overall: Jack Slate, cop framed and out for vengeance. Take control of him, and his trusty sidekick, his dog, and kick some ass, lol. Gameplay: Well I was anticiapating your typical shoot em up. However this wasn't exactly the case. I found that you didn't really have enough ammo for this, since u can't rack up a bunch of clips for guns, but rather every gun u can only carry a small amount of ammo. Like 1 clip for the guns like ak47, mp5, and colt. Pistols a bit more, but u run out easy if u go in guns blazing, best to grab a human shield and shoot conservatively or u won't survive certain areas. Has some cool mini games, though they are necessary to move on, but were easy enough to get through. Graphics: Well I was happily surprised with the graphics. I looked at the back of the game, and the graphics looked like absolut garbage. However the actual graphics in the game were pretty descent. Sound: I always hate this part. I dunno gun shots sounded fine, I didn't really notice, and i never notice sound unless if it stands out as being crappy or misplaced. Suggestions: Well it seems fairly short, common of this genre. I played for 1 night, maybe 6 hours or so, and I'm in chapter 7 of 14.
Overall: What can be said about it that isn't already?? Not only does it's gameplay make it an attractive title to play, but once you get invovled with the story it is difficult to put the controller down. Gameplay: The handling of Jack is far better then I first thought it would be. Not only were they imaginative enough to make the controls easy to master, but they also run a point by point tutorial for those gamers that need a test area before they can play. Sure running and bumping into boxes, or getting suck on corners is a pain, but it happens Graphics: The graphics were utterly amazing. The slow motion dives make this game worthwhile barnone. The characters were relatively descriptive, so making out certain character wasn't a chore. Cinematics were outstanding. Sound: This was one of the few good in game soundtrack in any game for a long while. The music and tempo just set the flow, and the gameplay could balance with it, can't complain at all. Getting the heart pumping is not a challenge for this game. Suggestions: Make another one!! Making indepth multiplayer features such as Halo would make this game a masterpiece on shelves. Try a female hero next time around to accompany Jack, possibly even let the female cop have her own mission, a-la- Resident Evil.
Overall: No appeal for anyone who enjoyed Max Payne WHATSOEVER. What a pile of !&%$@#* ing !&%$@#* . I think I hate Namco now - HATE!!! Who do they think they're trying to fool? They've ripped off a perfectly good game's idea, changed the setting and added a few ridiculous extras here and there. This game sucks as bad as my ex. Alright, not THAT bad. Gameplay: This game has some of the crappiest controls I've been subjected to. Everyone else who's (correctly) given this title a bad review has already mentioned the controls, so I won't bother, but it feels so restrained, feel like I'm on a leash, not as much freedom in this game as Max Payne. The dog's pathetic, but the graphics will have to wait for now. Those little tasks everyone talks about (stripper, disarming bombs)?? - just a cheap way to make an easy differential between this game and MP. They suck bad. Shooters shouldn't be like this. Graphics: I hated the graphics, an obvious PS2 port - everything from the dog to the enemies sucked, I could almost see the wireframe model of each character in my head, look close and you see that objects lack proper definition. Sucks baby, it sucks. The enemies were all clones, which is where I draw the line. In a game where the goal is to kill PEOPLE - having a situation where all the people are the same just doesn't make for a good game. Crappy namco barstewards. Sound: meh - sound was alright, I didn't have many issues here. I thought the gun sounds weren't as realistic and individual as they could have been though (see MP, Halo, Splinter Cell). Except for the shotgun, I loved that. Suggestions: Suggestions? Sure, I've got one. Crawl in a ditch, repent your long list of 'sins', and then die...you kiddy-fiddling freaks.
Overall: When I first heard of this game I knew this game would kick ass. Playing it wow this game is awsome. A third person shooter that is really cool it is like a clone of Max Payne except not that good. Gameplay: The game is little bit easy and sometimes hard. But you can't get that bored with it. Beat the game try to beat your record of time. You get bored don't play it in a while and it will be fun again. Graphics: This is not the strongest thing about this game. At least there is lot of cool blood in this game. Faces and the people are awkward and WHY? Did you make the stripper that !&%$@#* ed ugly. Sound: The gun effects are cool, the voice acting is cool. Almost everything is cool. Suggestions: Keep up.
Overall: BEST SINGLE PLAYER MODE I've EVER PLAYED! Wow... I got really hyped up about this game and it totally lived up to my expectations. The graphics weren't too nice, but the gameplay was just brilliant. I, being a huge fan of Kung Fu movies, appreciated all the wicked moves jack Slate Could pull in order to kill someone instantly. The use of mini games added to the amazingness of the game. Gameplay: Simply brilliant. Use "bullet time" to get off lots of shots in matters of milliseconds... use human sheilds, snap necks, and shoot prostitues. Wow. What made this game fun was how hard it was, but it didn't have a limit to the amount of lives you had so you just couldn't take your hand off the controller. And after every failure... you would learn more. Graphics: I don't know what to say... the graphics were brilliant! NOT!!!!
Ugliest graphics ever. I think the graphics got worse as I progressed throught the game. But the movies had very good animations/graphics. Sound: Not the best music, but yeah... the sounds of the bullets were unique i suppose. What more can I say to take up space here? Suggestions: Better graphics... more killing moves... more senseless violence... better acting by jack slate in thsoe movies.
Overall: Very good overall. Very nice graphics and gameplay. The plot and story goes along very well and I hope there's a II Gameplay: Like I said earlier the gameplay is good and it keeps your attention. I even liked the little mini games throughout the game. (becoming a stripper, dog, and running down the bad guys in a helicopter) Graphics: Visual looks great and it looks like the game came right out of a hollywood movie. Slo-mo are alot better looking than MAX Payne, even with them talking in slo-mo Sound: Probably could have improved here a little... you can here guys on the left and right, but it would be better if you could hear the bullets whizz by. Suggestions: Quite challanging in most cases. Overall good game to rent. would not buy though I beat it in about 3-4 days
Overall: Very interesting game! Think of Blade Runner meets 21st century. Very impressed with the challenge and sheer carnage of this game, but I find myself wishing I was playing Max Payne with a crappy imitation of the slow motion effect by this game. Gameplay: HARD HARD HARD. You need to be hardcore into this game to get much of anything done. Be prepared to die many times before beating specific sections in this game. Graphics: Very smooth graphics, except the stripper in the begining... Wish the maps were more interactive, but oh well it can't be perfect. Sound: After being stuck in particular points in this game you really learn to hate the music. But very appropriate score for the game overall.
Overall: I really enjoy most of this game. The first couple of chapters I was wondering if I had wasted my money, but after I got past them I felt good about my investment. Overall a worthy purchase. Gameplay: The variety in the game is good going from fist fights (boring) to flying in a helicopter and filling limos full of lead. Disarming fools is one of the shining moments of the game especially the rifle disarms. There are no difficultly settings so its hard and gets harder as you progress and unless your some super hero video game player plan dying a lot. The major complaint I have is the targeting system can be your worst enemy by selecting an enemy a mile away instead of the one shooting you two feet away. Graphics: PS2ish, but good enough you'll be moving so fast that you won't take time to notice. The animation is killer. The graphics get the job done. Sound: Sound is good. The guns sound like guns, hear can hear the bullets zipping past you (with Dobly 5.1 that is) or ricocheting off the walls. Nothing incredibly mind blowing.
Overall: This game overall is pretty good, if you don't mind a very hard game. When I say hard, I am not joking, even on EASY you will find yourself repeating areas over and over before you get through them. Also, at times it seems you are pit against too many enemies and it becomes frustrating, but when you finish a tough sequence it is very rewarding. Gameplay: The gameplay is what the core of a great game is, before you look at graphics and sound. You'll find that there are many styles of gameplay incorporated into Dead To Rights, some of them great and some of them not so great. You will have a variety of weapons at your disposal for most of the game and the aiming system is unique and fun to use. When you don't have a weapon, you can disarm enemies with several different types of disarm moves, which are particularly cool to watch. Max Payne-Style slow motion leaps add to your abilities and make for some very cool action sequences. Other than combat, there are many little side-games built into the story similar to Shenmue, some of these are very hard and others are downright hysterical. They pulled off the gameplay pretty decent in this one, but there are times where you will have difficulty fighting enemies or completing the side-games. Remember, this game is hard and will make you want to throw your controller at the television. Graphics: The graphics are very clean. I was surprised to see that for the most part this game looks like a Playstation 2 port, although it was designed for XBOX only. There are a few details like bumpmapping that add to the visuals, and don't get me wrong - the game does look good, I just think that it could look better. There are many enemies on the screen at one time and the action is laid out in a cinematic style which really sucks you into the adventure. Oh yeah, there is plenty of blood :) Sound: The sound in this game is excellent quality, but I did find that the dialog was a bit cheesy. It kind of plays like a B-rate 80's Cop Action flick. Other than that, the music and other sounds are top-notch. Suggestions: Try to make the EASY mode of the next game a little easier, the game was very hard for experienced gamers.
Overall: First off this is one of those games where you get the best out of it when you play with two, or more people. This game has very exciting moments, and it has boring moments (very few). Its a mixture between max payne and fighting force one. This game brings totaly different movements to the table. It has plenty of guns to pick up, for example, pistols, ak's, mp5, mp11 silencers, double barrowed shotguns, and plenty more. Unlike Max payne this game brings differents events to the plot. this game's only down fall is its camra control, and aiming at the enemy. The camra angles can get in the way of you killing the enemies. Sometimes you can get lost, and that can get very frustrating. The aiming is unesecessary. You can only lock on one person at a time. Sometimes it wont aim at the person wonted to. I really think they should've just stuck with the normal max payne aiming.
Final Thoughts
This was one of the better shooting games ive played in years. My advice is to rent before you by. This my not be for everybody. Gameplay: The game play is fun but can get repetitive. when your shooting your enemies its ok but when you get to the boring streets of rage type parts of the game it gets boring. besides that this game can is really challenging and is fun depending on your pacence level. Graphics: This game has a little n64 look to it. It really didnt get the full efect of the xbox which it should've. Sound: The sound in this game is pretty decint. the gun sounds are solid. Dont really make or brake the game. Suggestions: You had the right ideas, just didnt think hard enough.
Overall: The game is real good. I like how it takes after a movie like game. It is very fun even though some of the chapters get a little challenging. Gameplay: I like how everything plays its so easy to do everything. I like how the dog comes whenevr he is needed. Graphics: The graphics are real nice but sometimes the camera view gets messed up so you don't know what you are doing. Sound: All the sounds are good they go good with this game. My little brother thinks that the sounds are scary. But what does he know. Suggestions: Try not to messed up the camera views
Overall: Ok, this is one of these games that by reading the reviews you get a feel this is either Love or Hate game. Has anyone noticed that people have either ranked this game very high (almost perfect in most cases) or very lost (worst possible scores)?
The bottom line it is a very good game. Anyone that ranks it at lowest levels has not given it a time of day. Yes, it's true, the controls are akward at first, so is the camera, but the game is not plagued by these problems. The innovation and stategy required to advance make this game great. Gameplay: When I first started playing this, I couldn't help to notice the incredible resemblence this game carries to MAX Payne. This is a european developer as well as MAX payne. I'd be willing to bet something that MAX payne's code was used as a "skeleton" for this game. That's not to say that this is the same type of game. It is and it isn't. It's been said before, you will not going into a room of baddies and blasting them away in 10 seconds like you could in MAX payne. This game requires some form of stategy and formation. Some parts will be played over and over, until some strategy discovered works. The game is difficult. I would not recommend this to anyone who doesn't have at least 3 years of gaming experience under their belt.
The controls are very akward at first. I was scrambling for about 10 minutes, pressing the right trigger to shoot. It took me about 30 - 45 mins to get completely comfortable with the controls, although I can't say I don't miss Max Payne's targeting system. Anyway, I think this system works and just requires a bit of time to adjust.
Using the dog and taking people hostage is a great touch of innovation. Hopefully we can see more of this in the future. I thought the game needs a jumping button, but it's not that big of a deal. Graphics: Visually this game is like a slightly polished up MAx Payne. The camera takes time to get used to. The best thing to do is to position the camera to look towars the front with the left trigger. That's when there's no enemies on the screen. Yes, there are problems with the camera. Ocassional that is. I fell more time should have been spent here. Visually, anyone that said it should be a Sega title is out of their minds. PS2 couldn't possible pull off this type of graphics, although, by no means are they amazing. Let's put it this way, they are good enough for what they are intended. The character design is much better than in Max Payne, but not by much. Oh yeah, the stripper scene is very weak. Sound: Sound I thought is very much standard. Probably very Max paynish. Custom melody rumbles throughout the game, the SFX are very good, as they should be. Suggestions: Put some innocent people around so they can be shot for no particular reason.
Overall: I think this game is great i've been playing it a while now and holy crap this game is difficult but in a good way. I love a challenge and DTR definitely delivers that. Gameplay: I thought the gameplay was good, the controls could've used a little work though especially the aiming. Graphics: I don't know why people have been saying the graphics aren't good, sure thay could've been better but there's still no way in hell it could look any better on any other system. Sound: Sound could've probably also been improved but I think the overall quality is more than decent. I also like the voice acting.
Overall: AT first I was a little disapointed at this game. The grfx where ok,but they dont take full advantage of the xbox hardware, and the controls are hard to get used to.But that all ended about mid way thru the game.Once you start to get used to the controls the game play is awsome. The action in Dead To Rights is right on.I could totaly understand
some of the negative reviews this game got from some reveiwers but they just aint real gamers. It is not the best or best to come but it is very very good, dead right on. Gameplay: Like I said there is a learning curve. For those of you who just whant to bust in a room blazing mindlessly this game may not be for u.For those who like a good old fashion gun fight, here you go baby take a hostage use him for a shield, hide behind crates ,walls,Trash cans, and cars.Take out your enemy with some serious hard core disarms.Man once you get comfotable with the game play lock on targeting system when to manual target and when not you can clear any stage with out geting killed. But it does take time to learn.4 the hard core only Game rated M for a reason.
Graphics: The visuals could have been a little better.Only because it looks like a very good ps2 game. But it doesnt take away anything plus I do have a very good TV,and monster cables to boot. Sound: The Sound in the game is totaly realistic.neck snaps, the ping and pang on bullets hitting all around you.Your dog mulling your enemy. Its just one of the best sounding games I have ever played. And my stereo surrond sound system helps to. Suggestions: Make the game use the total hardware of the xbox system.
Overall: This is such an awesome game. I thought it would be hard to beat Max Payne, but DTR destroyed MAX PAYNE. I just rented this game, but soon im definetly going to buy this game. It is a hard game.. You will have to repeat some parts over and over again before u finally get it right. Gameplay: The gameplay is kick ass. just like max payne u can do the slow motion dives. U can auto aim of aim yourself. Bein able to hug against the walls and then turn around and shoot the enimies is awesome. Bein able to snap necks, and have a human sheild(hostage). so many things that werent even in max payne. Shadow is VERY useful especially when u r low on health and dont have a weapon. Graphics: The graphics are great. Some people are dissing these graphics but i dont see anything wrong with them. Jack and all the other characters look tyte as hell. Not Xbox's best, but who cares they r still good. Sound: the sound is good, the gunshots and everything, the dog mauling the enimies. Suggestions: make a dead to rights 2, this killed Max Payne in my mind. they r very similar but i think that this one is better. Everyone worshpis max payne so this one has to be liked.
Overall: When you start up the game, you're magically standing in a construction zone with about 100 construction workers who are all packing pieces, and you have no idea why they're viciously trying to blow your face off with them. After you kill the 50+ foremen who're there, you figure they're all morons anyway because in this ratio there is one boss for every worker. After you shoot all these people, the next area you play is a strip club. You no longer play the main character, you play the stripper. And you strip. You must strip well to distract the guards, who realize that someone might be hiding in the shadows because the stripper is not on top of her game.
My friends and I tried, and we tried hard, and we tried harder to find something enjoyable, but none of the ploys it tried to pull made the game fun. It just seemed like a task tp play Dead To Rights. Gameplay: Everything is a MODE! You're never not in a mode. You'll be in wall mode, walk mode, aim mode, shoot mode, lockpick mode, and Shadow mode, where you control a dog. And that sounds like fun, but its not. The game is almost on with somewhat innovative ideas, like disarming your opponent, or using enemies as a human shield, but it breaks into these cutscenes everytime, and it doesn't flow. It has the whole action movie feel, but it's more like a B-movie... poorly acted. Graphics: Not bad... but it seemed rushed. The colors were cool, but all the characters were EXACTLY THE SAME PEOPLE. Everyone's a clone in Dead To Rights. The graphics themselves are very rough, and the animations don't flow at all. The most fun we had with the game was jumping around in slow mode, which taken straight from Max Payne, and flying into objects and floating in the sky for a LONG time. Sound: Everyone says the same thing. And the main character talks JUST LIKE MAX PAYNE, only worse. And Max was kinda cheesy anyway. The stripper music is kinda jazzy, and very pornified, but if you mess up when you're stripping, she moans the most sensual "NO...." that anyone's ever heard. And its the same no every !&%$@#* time. Suggestions: This game........ oh man. We wrote this review because we came here to laugh at the game, and everyone was saying it was good. It shocked us. It has its ideas, but they're so poorly executed... it's terrible. The game definitely has a cheesy action film feel to it, like Last Action Hero, but it's so grody and pornified, we found more entertainment in laughing at it. And that's mean, but its sadly the truth. Dead To Rights is like running Max Payne through a blender and launching it out of someones dirty behind.
Overall: I was very hyped about coming into this game. Although extremely good, there are the aspects that you just can't understand why they made it into the game. What was such a promising, hyped game should fall into obscurity within a few months. Gameplay: The gameplay is for the most part, well done. I like the weapons system, and that you can't just run and gun all the time. The hand-to-hand fighting system, on the other hand is simply too repetitive. Whenever I'm in an area with hand to hand, I can't help but think about how much better the game would have been with it cleaned up. In the prison level, the shortcoming become so obvious, as you see the same combination punches, kicks, and throws so much you DO get absolutely sick of the game. I almost didn't want to continue, having that combined with the insane amount of enemies that you must fight with the terrible system in the larger areas. It seems impossible when as soon as you finish the combo on one enemy you have another kicking your back before you can even turn around or hit the block button. Also, responsiveness to the block button should have also been looked at. Graphics: Visually, this game isn't better than a PS2 game. If it is developed to be xbox exclusive for a few months, they should have at least cleaned it up a bit. The camera angles are f'n HORRID. The camera always turns the way that you don't want it to, and in the stages where the camera is fixed, you never see exactly what you need to be seeing. Turning the camera manually can be done, but in a good game of this type, shouldn't be required so much. Sound: Sound is decent. You can tell what gun is what by the sound that comes from it. Voice acting is ok . . . nothing special, really. Suggestions: Clean up the camera angles. The hand-to-hand system needs to be improved on greatly. GRAPHICS should have been improved. Why buy an xbox if I'm only going to have ps2 quality graphics. Give us something to look forward to. I think that with the problems in this game I've seen just in the first few levels you may have made me not want to buy a sequel.
Overall: Way to difficult...did not even have a setting button to change the difficulty on. Even a god mode code would have made this game better. Overall, very disappointing for a game that had so much potential. Gameplay: Some of the assigned tasks were just way to inane and ludicrous. Some of the parts I could actually beat after 5 to 10 tries were fun, but most was just way too annoying. Graphics: On top of the that, the graphics looked like they were from Playstation 2. And the camera angles were handled horrendously, sometimes chopping off appendages or blotting out the image with a wall entirely. Sound: The sound was okay. It seemed standard issue sound effects were put into this game, nothing flashy at all that caught my attention.
Overall: It is a great game. It is very different from any other game I have played. It has some suprising content and keeps you going. Gameplay: This game is very hard. Many people will tell you that. It is actually too hard for some people. Watch out newbies! Graphics: This game has pretty good graphics. The animations are very cool. Escpecially when you use someone as a human sheild or you disarm them. Sound: It has good sound effects and can scare you some times. I have Dolby Digital 5.1 and I could tell where everything was! Suggestions: Make an option for Medium or Hard!
Overall: This game really hits the spot. To tell the truth I was a little apprehensive about purchasing this game , but I am so glad that I did. The storey line is pretty good and the use of your surroundings is def a plus. Gameplay: The game play is great. It takes just a little while to get used to the controllers but the use of buttons was well thought out. Graphics: The graphics are pretty nice. Almost seems like beefed up P2 but they are a lot crisper and nicer than that. Sound: Sound, now this is the only real complaint I have. The voices in the games have an echoy effesct which makes it hard to hear at times. Suggestions: Crisper sound when it somes to voices. Maybe have a little more free roaming on some boards.
