"After 10 years since the first Jurassic Park movie came out
someone finally stepped up to make a worthwhile game that actually brings a little pride to the title. Unlike back in the day when somebody decided to make a shameful Jurassic Park game for the shameful Sega console where the objective of the game was to literally slaughter dinosaurs to death. This
time around Konami has decided to add a much needed element; strategy."
Overall: This game is amazing . I got it yesterday and it has been impossible to pull myself away from it . It's way better than any ROLLERCOASTER TYCOON game! Gameplay: Basically , it is rollercoaster tycoon , BUT , with dinosors !. You build your own jurassic park , breed your own dino's , and basically make sure everything stays in working order (which it never does!) Graphics: Graphically , it is basically as good as it could have been . You can't really expect a game like to to have amazing , breath-taking graphics......but their still gr8 ! Sound: it's got the really great music from the movies which is a great touch . The dino's sound very realistic too. It's all good in the sound department ! Suggestions: make a new one , with different dinosoars !
Overall: Jurassic Park has gotten more of its share of really lousy games, seeing how good the first movie was. Operation Genesis takes a step in the right direction to change that. It's a park builder combined with an action game. You build your own version of Jurassic Park from the ground up, and work to set the balance between entertaining visitors and keeping the dinosaurs happy and healthy. However, when things go wrong you step into the shoes of the park rangers, chasing after escaped dinosaurs and wrangling them or gunning them down. Besides the freeform mode, the game includes action oriented missions, park building missions, and a "Site B" mode where you just watch the dinosaurs interact, which is alot more interesting then it sounds. Gameplay: Both the park building and the action aspects arn't as deep as I would have liked them to be, but seeing that the two are blended so perfectly this is excusible. Some things are quite complex, like cloning dinosaurs. For each animal you must start by searching the globe for fossils. Once you get enough, you extract it and can hatch the dinosaur. The more DNA you have, the longer the dinosaur will live. What my real beef was is the lack of unique structures to keep parks diverse and interesting. I believe there are only between 20 and 30 total. However, the dinosaur quota is up at 25, and every animal has very different and complex behavior. Just watching the dinosaurs running around kept me entertained for ages, because they are so full of surprises. And one of the guilty pleasures is seeing the big carnivores like Tyrannosaurus or Acrocanthosaurus ripping the feeder goats apart. The gameplay leans toward being too easy, though, which makes the replay value short lived. Graphics: The visuals are where the real meat of this game is. You have complete control of the camera, similar to Black and White. You can zoom way out and see the entire island, or go down to the level of your visitors and tour the park from their perspective. Almost everything is exquisitly detailed and many of the dinosaurs look like they lifted the CG models from the movies. Phenomenal work here. Sound: The sound is either great or terrible. The visitors all make wierd grunts and squeals rather then actually talking, and this gets annoying quickly. Some of the dinosaur vocalizations get repetitive too. However, the majority of the dinosaur sounds are great. Most have been lifted from the movies and the ones created for the game have alot of thought put into them, rather then just generic roars. The music is the best part of the audio. The classic Jurassic Park themes are present, plus track after track of original and very good music. This is motion picture quality stuff, and thers alot of it. I particurally liked the themes for the thunderstorm and tornado. Suggestions: I would extend the game's lasting appeal with a better variety of structures. With the current set all my parks end up pretty much the same. For the most part, though, this is a very high quality game!
Overall: Now this was a game to get it was like two game in one.It was a great game to get.I still have not gotten bored of it. Gameplay: The gameplay was out of this world. You could fight the dinosours,or you could manage them in a theme park. Graphics: The visual effects were awsome. The dinosours looked as real as on Jurassic park,(almost).I is a good game. Sound: The sound effects were cool.I was actually able to here all types of sounds while managing my theme park.
Overall: The game is very appealing. A basic themepark sim, with dinosaurs. The game has over 25 dinosaurs you can create also with basic sim themepark features. Such as burger shops, souveneir stands, and so fourth. Not to mention you can find new dinosaurs by recovering fossils. There is alot of depth to the game, your dinosaurs can get sick and different visitors will like different types of dinosaurs. Not to mention you may recognize characters from the movies also. Gameplay: The gameplay is nice, lots to do with much depth. Countless things you can do with your dinosaurs, including slaughtering them via your ranger helicopter (you can research a sniper rifle to exterminate dinosaurs) or via the Sentry gun turret. There is also alot your dinosaurs will do, if they don't get what they need they may go on a rampage and break through their fencing and attack your visitors. Some may catch diseases which must be cured or your visitors may leave, who wants to see a sick dinosaur? Their is much appeal and the gameplay is smooth, no lag or anything so far. Alot of people don't want to play because of the lack of a mouse and keyboard, but the buttons are well laid out in this game so I assure you that you won't miss the keyboard/mouse combo. Graphics: The dinosaurs look great and the building graphics are pretty good, along with the trees and such. The water graphics are the best I have seen in any game to date. The visitor graphics could be better and are a little blocky but really only noticable when you zoom in real close, which is almost never. The graphics are pretty good, they surely aren't bad, but they aren't exactly awesome... Sound: The sound blends well in this game with good voice acting. The music is hardly noticable though, but moreso because you get absorbed into the game. Overall great sound. Suggestions: A bit more detail in the visitors would help. More dinosaurs and less building restrictions would be great. Also take off the dino limit. Also more unique buildings would help.
