Overall: hmm. only bought it as it was $7 s/h. Its overall lack of polish shows that this is a quick rehash to cash in on the 2002 World Cup.
Gameplay: true to fifa, controls and gameplay are solid, responsive and fun. However, its far too easy, on any difficulty level. the computer AI has allot left to be desired.
Graphics: good crisp graphics. Played for quite a while now and no polygon errors or see-through bugs to be found.
Sound: commentary is average of any football game. You can always tell when teams/players names are quoted as there is a distinct pitch change. The music is top notch with some good current tracks.

Overall: This game is pretty fun overall! Although there is no live features, or many game modes the controls and game play within a match are very realistic and easy to understand.
Gameplay: The game play is fun! During the game all controls are easy, and you can get the hang of it fast. Only problem is that it lacks game modes! If you want a shootout you have to tie the game and you'll get one in overtime!
Graphics: Visually this game was great! Although you may notice that all the players look similar, and when they show a movie theres not much detail in that. But the crowd and effects are amazing!
Sound: Theres not much sound. Although the cheering of the crowds are realistic thats about it. The announcer doesn't have many lines and there isn't many sound effects.
Suggestions: Make a World Cup game thats Live compatible (or at least system link) so I can play live

Overall: Well this game is very old but it was on of my favorite soccer games. The graphics and gameplay were great and i had a ton of fun on multiplayer. Multiplayer is where its at.
Gameplay: The controls were nice and even though the controls are not as advanced as soccer games these days it was awesome.
Graphics: The graphics were not that amazing... ps2ish but it was also one of the first xbox games. So it gets some slack.
Sound: The sounds were great. I loved hearding the crowds chants and sound of a cleat kicking the ball. Very nicely done.

Overall: Great soccer game, but no where near enough to do, exhibition or world cup, 2 easy to score goals and it's very easy but it looks and sounds great.
Gameplay: Great controls and fun to play, but no where near enough to do. Good multiplayer.
Graphics: Looks brilliant, you can tell who each player is, just from a quick look at them, stadiums and fireworks look great.
Sound: Sounds good, it's soccer, all it needs is the crowd and commentators, nothing special.
Suggestions: Just remake the N64's ISS 98' and update it, make it look better and have real names and you've got the perfect soccer game.

Gameplay: Many times you have to pass off the screen, in faith. The controls are easy enough to pick up.

Graphics: Graphics are sweet!!!!!!!! So sweet that I pop harsh wood. Its so real that the chineese players have slanty eyes and a very homo look.

Overall: Guide one of many included countries national team through the World Cup of Soccer tournament.

EA Sports soccer offering on the XBox for this year.
Gameplay: The game play is smooth and easy to control. In my opinion this is some of EA sports' best work. The play movements seem smooth and natural, even when there are collisions and tripping.

This is the best air play model I have played in any soccer game.

This game does have limited replay value beyond trying to win the World Cup with every team. There are only four unlockable all star teams. Other than playing in the tournament or playing a friendly, there is no other game options.

I still play the game at least once a week, and I've had it since July 3rd.

Graphics: Superb graphics, with great attention to detail. Some players even look very similar to their real world counterparts, which is new to the EA Sports soccer world. I can't think of anything that I would change visually.
Sound: If there is a weakness to this game, it would be sound. But this is a sports game, and sound really does not matter too much. The announcer's are very repetetive, more so than normal for a sports game. Also they have nothing analytical to point out about the game, but I am sure this is not to offend anybody by talking poorly about their national team.

I would say that sound is adequate.
Suggestions: None really, since I'll probably own a new console in time for the 2006 World Cup.

Gameplay: The replay value really really blows !&%$@#* which is a dissapointment as the controls are so so so great and stuff.
Graphics: The visuals are great once you score a goal it does a little movie which is prett cool looking. The fields and players are all well done here and stuff....Nice touch.

Overall: It has the best gameplay on a FIFA game ever, but it has the least replay value on a FIFA game ever as well. It's fun if you bought it to play, but if you want to customize it, well, you won't have fun.
Gameplay: It has the best gameplay for a FIFA game. It's fun, easy to pick up and play, but hard to master. Very well done.
Graphics: It's definitely not eye candy, but it isn't horrible-looking either. The graphics are okay, but could've been better.
Sound: The sound was very realist, and it was quite impressive. The game has good sound, in my opinion. You can hear narrators, the crowd shouting, etc. The music wasn't as great as other FIFA games though.
Suggestions: Make it more customizable, and add replay value. A good idea would be minigames or things like that.

Gameplay: it was fun to play for a while, kept my attention longer than most games (by the way i have A.D.D.) the numerous countries you could play added to the appeal
Graphics: pretty stunning actually - it won't win any awards for it, but looked realistic.
Sound: could use some help here, i didn't get the feeling that a bunch of hooligans were getting ready to storm the field and start a brawl which a soccer game should make you feel.

Overall: I am not a fan of soccer, or, um, football, whatever you call it, it still is the worlds biggest sport. This game captures that very well, giving soccer fans and non-soccer fans a very good game. Though it is not the best game on the XBOX, it is the best sports game currently out. With over 30 nations to choose from, you could have fun even after you beat the game, how about trying to win with Senegal? Turn up the difficulty and play with a bad team, a challenge is always fun. Overall, this game really captures the essense of World Cup Soccer. I played with 7 different nations, the furthest I got was the finals (twice) and lost. My eigth try was with Italy, and I dominated in all games until the finals, where it finished 2-2 after 90 minutes. When I scored late in over-time, it felt so great. When you feel proud of winning the world cup in this game, and jump up and scream like I did, you know it is a good game.
Gameplay: The World Cup tournament is the main part of the game, and it is great. Before the match starts there is a very good intro, showing the field and arena, the first couple times you see this, you will be in awe of it, but it will wear off eventually, but hey? Doesn't everything? Multiplayer is just like the multiplayer on any sports title, face a freind or freinds. The game does not have a league feature, which really I missed, I would love to do a entire soccer season and then take the team to the world cup, but not so. Not having this feature made me drop it point-5, but it is still a very good game to play. I rented this game, and bought it about a week after, and I only buy games if I am very impressed with them, so take that for what it's worth.
Graphics: The player models are very good, but what really is impressive here is the work that was put into the crowd. You will never get a closeup of the crowd because they are 2-D, but from afar you really cannot tell. The crowd wave flags and at each end of the field their is a huge flag covering the fans which waves up and down majestically, very nicely done. They really captured what a world cup crowd is like, and to me this was the greatest aspect of the game. You feel the spirit of the game. The only problem was the tackle replays, they aren't very good. During play when you slide tackle someone, it looks great, but then they show a closeup replay of it, and sometimes there is some clipping between the players, and other times it doesn't appear you touched the victim.
Sound: There isn't much I can say here. The crowd is good, the commentator is alright... I really don't care for soccer commentators, but I kept him on because it is a big part of the game. Not much sound goes into a soccer, game, sliding on the pitch, a few generic kicking sounds and that's it. I cannot dock the game for this, because, really... what do you hear when watching a soccer game on TV? Kicking, the pitch, and the commentator, that's it.
Suggestions: This is a great game and has my full recommendation for buying. Don't rent it first, that's a waste of 5 bucks, just go buy it. As for improvments? Even though it is a world cup game add Canada so I can REALLY feel proud when I win.

Overall: This is a pretty strong soccer game but there is just something lacking. First thing missing is that there is only the international teams and no club teams. YES I KNOW it is a fifa WORLD CUP game but that really takes away a lot of the fun... not being able to do leagues and stuff. Also there is like no modes... so that really does not help the replay value a whole lot. It is a pretty strong and fun soccer game but it just gets old to quick... A typical soccer game that we have seen many years before! they really need to change things up more.
Gameplay: The gameplay is pretty solid. It is good but COME ON ! There is really hardly any differences compared to past years. There is nothing wrong with it but i think it is about time that we saw something new! Like a new way of doing corner kicks and throw ins! i mean it is has been that way since like fifa 96 on sega!
Graphics: The graphics are pretty good... i mean really they just look identical to the pc version and do not look that impressive... Pretty good player models and stadiums but nothing that will wow you here.
Sound: The sound is pretty good. The commentating IMO is somewhat annoying... i mean the guys are just too annoying. THE CROWD AND STADIUM AMBIENCE IS GREAT sounds like a world cup match! the crowd reacts very well to the action on the pitch.
Suggestions: Lets get a big overhaul in the gameplay and try to wow us with some high detail graphics... and don't forget online is coming in ;)

Overall: I thought the overall game was good. I don't like unrealistic sports games like the "Blitz" series. I thought EA did a good job of correctly representing the teams with their ranking and skills.
Gameplay: Gameplay was pretty good. However, goal shots were a bit tricky. I wasn't sure where my shots were going at times. Also, there were few moments when I passed to my player near the out of bounce line and the ball went towards out of bounce rather than to the player I was passing to. Overall though, this game was excellent. As others have mentioned, practice mode, create players/stadium mode, dynamic mode, and even a franchise mode would have been great! Online capability would be a bigger PLUS since people from US can play with people all over the world!
Graphics: Visual was pretty impressive especially the crowd and the replay shots. However, some of the player's faces weren't too graphic. They were boxy and had the shape of a Gumby or something. Some parts of slow motion was great since it looked very real. Adding the weather effect (rain, snow, etc.) would have been awesome as well.
Sound: I thought the sound apeal was great! Hearing the whole crowd cheer and small sound effects when passing the ball and stuff made the game more real. Announcers were great but it would be awesome if you can have more different language translations such as Korean, French, Hispanic, etc. How cool would that be!!! Also, this year's biggest surprise of the 2002 World Cup event was the support shown by the Koreans. Whenever the Koreans play, if the crowd can sing their songs and do the shout/clapping chant "Great Republic of Korea!!!" (Dae Han Min Gook!), this game will be the best game ever! It will just re-live the moment of 2002 World Cup with flood of the red t-shirted Koreans.
Suggestions: As mentioned above, it would be great if the developers can consider the following items for a future FIFA World Cup game:

1. Better modes (Franchise, Practice, Create/Modify Player & Stadium capability, Country Leagues, etc.)
2. Online capability. This will really promote "World" cup. =)
3. Better graphics with player closeups to get rid of boxy faces and shapes. Make the faces more realistic.
4. Announcer to speak mutli-language: Korean, French, German, Spanish, etc.
5. When Korea plays, make the crowds chant their country cheer since that was one of the most memorable events of the whole World Cup. Perhaps include some of the songs they sang ("Oh~ Oh~ Oh~ Korea!!!") or clap/chant they use.

Feel free to contact me since I live close to Redwood City's EA HQ!!! =)

Overall: FIFA World Cup seemed like a good game the first screenshot, looked like it had excellent graphics, gameplay, and sound. I found this to be untrue when I actually had the chance of playing it for the first time. The game has a good assortment of teams and names, but its gameplay lacks. The character sequences inbetween penalties, goals, etc. got annoying after 10 minutes of playing. The players seemed to play bunch ball (soccer players know what I mean) which got annoying.
Gameplay: This game lacks organization in my opinion, the players don't hold their positions very well and switching from player to player got annoying because it went to the closest one to the ball. Shooting and passing seemed very unrealistic, all you do is press a button and boom, the next guy has it. It wasn't much fun when you feel like you don't know where your players are and what is going on with them. My friends liked this game, it just wasn't my thing I guess.
Graphics: The screenshots for the game looked good, but as soon as you started playing you could tell how choppy and jaggy the players, stadium, sidecrews, and crows are. Some of the characters look like they are in that one show "Dragonball Z" the hair is straight up and jaggy. They could have actually looked at actual soccer players and model each one individually. In some shots of the crowd they wave flags that are completely disproportioned to the size of each person in the crowd (no relevance to graphics, but a stupid thing to have nonetheless.) I would like to see an Xbox exclusive soccer game, because this one suffers from being a bad port.
Sound: Probably the best part about the game, I liked how the players interacted with eachother. When someone would kick the ball you could hear it and it sounded real. The crowd was nicely blended in as well. Overall good job on sound.
Suggestions: If you release anything on the Xbox, it is nice to see why we bought it, I dont like seeing the same kind of graphics on a Gamecube and Ps2 version of a game as on a Xbox version. Make it feel more organized.

Overall: Always loved the fifa 98 title on the PC and i have to say this is a great world cup sequel. the animations and player models are stunning, the gameplay a bit hard and you'll have to figure it out without practice modes, but that really works well somehow. Some teams are really very difficult and getting into the finals is hard work. I'm not even that much of a soccer fan, but you can wake me up for this game anytime. it supports 4 players (on one team or divided). I do think the options are limited, it lacks the 'road to world cup' element of the fifa98 and practice modes (for penalties etc). It has some movie extras of backstage footage and small theme do !&%$@#* entaries of international supporters etc, not bad at all.
Gameplay: Good use of the xbox controller, the white and black button are used, and that always sucks, but the other controls are nice, triggers operate effect and there's many combinations and tackles which really give the game it's appeal. the star player options adds some extra too, it's cool.
Graphics: Great, some glitches with close up players but seeing how much they look like the real players is hilarious, stadiums rock. cool lighting too. didn't like the crowd much. good interface too!!!!
Sound: just cheers and great commentators, don't remember the music. crowd cheers according to gameplay and commentators are quite intelligent and has surprising remarks about tactics and sloppyness.. awesome!
Suggestions: more movies, full replays of entire games (use the HD!!!), slower power-up of the shot-o-meter, custom team builder (international selection!). AND HOW DO I DELETE A SAVE??!?!?!

Overall: What can I say, not being a big fan of EA - a very solid game in deed. I always felt EA simply does not push the envelop far enough when it comes to games development. They just add a bit something here and a little something there onto the previous version and let it go. This game is that, however, it's soli enough to stand on it's own. Undoubtably, you're getting realism with this game. Something that's tough to find in socce Genre.
Gameplay: Controls are easy. You can jump right in and be playing within minutes. I have not played too much yet, but I've noticed that scoring goals is very difficult. As it should be. Most of the times the shot will over kick the goal. I suppose it takes practice. What I like about this game is the # of things you can do with so few buttons in use. If you're a soccer player, you will realize just how much of the game you control here. Passing is cruicial and this game gives you enormous flexibility when it comes to passes. As said before you control every aspect of the game, and love every second of it.

The conquest mode is nice. If you're a socer freak you will enjoy things like the date that you will get for your match and the stadium's reaction.
Graphics: The game looks very impressive. I suppose it could look slightly better with players on the field. I can definately see the next version being better looking but it's still nice as is. As I said before the game is incredibly reaslistic, from the plays to the reactions. However, EA either forgot or didn't think about one thing. Player's reaction after a goal. Sometimes they show them celebrating, but most of the time they don't. You get a goal, which is hard to come by and then it's a kick off. You need the rward the player by showing various celebrations.
Sound: Sound is incredible. On the field you hear players screaming things to each other in other languages. The crowd reacts nicely to different situations and the commentary is solid as well. Overall no complaints on the sound.
Suggestions: 1. Make players celebrate their goals.
2. Make shots on goal easier to control.

Overall: This game was really good.......... At first. i thought the idea of a world cup soccer game was cool because i played FIFA 2001 for PS2, and that was fun. But once you win teh World Cup and get the secret teams... It's not fun anymore.
Gameplay: the gameplay was ok. i didnt liek how there were two options: friendly mose, and 2002 FIFA World Cup mode.
But teh controls were great
Graphics: the visuals were very weird for this game. one thing i didnt like was how when you change the difficulty, the camera moves farther back. i wondered why they did that. i know they probably did it because its harder to play like that...... but why cant you make the difficuty on professional, but still be close up????? oh well....
Sound: FIFA's sound wasn't the best.... i hated how the fans blew their whistles when they think there should be an foul called. i couldn't stand that. i didnt like the sound overall.

Gameplay: Its kindda hard to get the buttons right, the defalts are different than some of the other EA games. Its a good game

Overall: I have about a dozen games including Halo, but FIFA World Cup is the game I keep going back to. I am a big soccer fan and player, but my non-soccer fan friends also request to play this game over most others. It is so real, it really gets you pumped up. I can't wait until FIFA 2003 comes out with a full range of features, not limited to just World Cup. I play with stereo surround sound on a 32" screen and it is incredible.
Gameplay: The overall gamplay is very realistic. Lobpasses, ground passes, shots and headers, which can all be fine tuned with the power bar feature and by the pressure you exsert on the analog controller buttons. You can also use the controller triggers to freeze movement (to fake a shot or juke around a guy). The biggest complaint is the airball game. It is just way to hard and a little random. I have been playing for over 30 hours and I have yet to score a goal with a header or bysical kick (although I have hit the post one with each type of shot). The gameplay needs to be adjusted to make it easier, or more chance of success, for a guy to play the ball out of the air. The computer seems to have no problem with the airball game, but the human player usually never gets a good play out of the air unless there is no defender nearby, which is almost never when near the goal. This really takes away from set plays, which is the number one way the computer usually scores on you. Also, the camera angle on direct free kicks does not allow you to see the field well enough to lob a ball to a player to set up an airball shot. Your only real option is to take a shot on net, when a preferable option may be to lob it to a guy off screen for a header shot. This should be fixed for FIFA 2003. Other than that this game rules.
Graphics: Amazing! The developers should, however, fix the problem of the opposing crowed cheering and waiving their flags when the other team scores. It's good to have the stadium a-rockin when there is a goal, but that's a little too good sportsmanship. At least don't have the opposing team fans waive their flags when the other team scores. Should only be the scoring team's flags waiving.
Sound: Great! The fans, players and anouncers are all great. Unlike others who have reveiwed here, I liked the dramatic classical music - but, maybe just for the World Cup though. For FIFA 2003, skateboard music might be fine.
Suggestions: Refine the airball game. When shooting on goal, the computer seems to have no problem going up in a crowd for a nice header or bicyical kick, but the human player seems to only execute such shots when no defender is close by, which is almost never. This greatly effects the balance and fun of the game. Please make it easier to execute airball plays. Also, allow the player to adjust the camera angle on direct free kicks, so that you can see where all your players are to set up an airball shot.

Overall: As a soccer fan I have to say WOW. This game is amazing! It gives you the feeling likie you are actually at the World Cup. The crowd makes you love the game even more. The crowd ROARS as you score the winning goal. Overall I have to say awesome.
Gameplay: The gameplay is easy to learn and use. My favorite feature in the gameplay would be the addition of juggling the ball just to taunt the other team. I have to say the gameplay is exactly what I could have imagined.
Graphics: One word summarizes the visials. BOOM! They are explosive. Other than the few ugly players the visials exceed what most soccer games can comprehend. The stadiums are probably the most amazing thing about the game. They look so real. I also love the replay angles. They give a really good perspective on your spectacular goal. I really enjoy the visuals.
Sound: The crowd ROARS after you score that almost impossible overtime goal in the last minute of the injury time. Another interesting thing you can here while playing. It is the players yelling to each other. Well, I have to go back to the crowd and say that is why the sound is so great.
Suggestions: Work on the visuals.

Overall: As always my reviews are those from a dad's perspective. My son and I play this game as do several of my son's friends. The game is what you want it to be from a soccer fan's perspective. You can do everything you would expect, passes, moves, shooting, tackling, etc. We already own FIFA 2001 for the PC and this game in some ways is a little better, but in some ways it is a little worse. Being a soccer house (both kids play actively) this title should be a favorite and it is.
Gameplay: As mentioned above, the game play is what you would expect. Comparing the gameplay between the PC and the Xbox, the Xbox wins(as it should). The different difficulty levels do make a difference to my family in that anything above the amateur setting results in a pasting for the human players right now. I am sure that may not be the same for you serious gamers out there but for us that is reality. The vibrating effects are not that pronounced and could be improved on tackles and headers. The different colors surrounding the selected players indicate the potential success of a pass which is helpful but not 100% accurate(but that is a soccer reality). When players use their special talent the screen will surround them with a visual letting you know you are using that talent (check out Donavan Bailey on a sprint). The fatigue option is nice and adds a little reality.
Graphics: To me this is the biggest fallback. I am probably complaining for nothing but the players don't look all that great. The faces are grainy and are kind of neutral looking. Our family knows a player on the US extended roster (he is from our hometown). He doesn't look at all like him. Yet on the PC version he is faithfully represented. This is true for a number of the other players with a distinctive look to them. Same company, similar game, so why would they shortchange us? Seems like just rushing it to the shelves to take advantage of the World Cup coverage.

Otherness - I also agree with the folks discussing a few herky-jerky pieces of the game. There aren't too many of these but 1 is too many. Some have said this is the framerate - got me. I know the PC version doesn't suffer from this.
Sound: The sounds are fine. Commentary is excellent. I am sure there are other folks out there now who routinely use the catch phrases used by these guys. I know it sounds hokey but "it's in the back of the net" is now used by several members of the family (with bad british accents too) while watching the World Cup games.
Suggestions: Improve the visuals. I know my comments about the players faces are a little weak. But why cheap out when EA had to do the work for the PC version? I agree with others that would allow for a create a player type of option, that would seem to allow folks to keep the game current as new players come onto the scene.

Overall: This is a terrific soccer game, HOWEVER it's overall appeal is strictly for Soccer Fanatics. It hold's some appeal for the overall sport's freak like myself, however I'd probably be as equally excited to play a Emporer's Cup, Sumo Wrestling game.
Gameplay: The gameplay is SUPERB. The longer you play the game the better and more realistic it seems to get. Once you've mastered it on the lower levels and move on to the higher ones, the score's seem to drop and more reflect real Soccer if you are trying to play defensively. The only thing that hurts this title is it's lack of features and options outside of the World Cup itself. There are no club leagues, and I saw someone once mention that it would be a good idea to have qualifying for the Cup.
Graphics: Absolutely STUNNING. I must say this is perhaps the single best sports title i've seen for the X-Box thus far, with the sole exception of NFL Fever. The amount of detail in everything from the Fields and Stadiums to the players and crowd is enormous.
Sound: The sounds in World Cup are great, life like, thrilling and addicting but it is lacking something. I was thinking what that could be when I was watching the South Korea/Italy game start this morning. It's missing more chants. It has the basic Ole chant, however I don't recall it having any others. It would be nice to have some of the others like Allez, whatever the heck the Korean team was chanting and other national chants. (The teams without chants could just have the basic Ole...since it seems many countries like our very own USA do not have chant's of our own.)
Note, i've not even mentioned the commentary yet, as that is TERRIFIC. It hardly seems repetative at all, I just wish the English guys they got seemed nearly as excited about Goal's as that Spanish guy does on Univision or Telemundo or whatever it is I see him on!
Suggestions: I would sugguest that in the next installment, they either add Club Team/MLS Options first and foremost. It would add to the lasting appeal of the game and would make it a terrific long term game.
Adding a 'Create a player' thing would be nice too, as most other sports genre's seem to have them.
I think it's near imperative to add to the commentary as that was one of the greatest aspects of the game, and one i think most developers seem to neglect. As they add to that, the new Chants would be terrific to make the game even more exciting.

Overall: This game would appeal to the soccer fanatic and some all around gamers because of the neat options and hype during the game. When your playing, you feel like your really on the field. When you miss a close shot, u feel the disappointment you would if you were actually playing. Really cool game!
Gameplay: World Cup option is cool. There are many options u can use on the field such as: pass, lob, shot, aggressive tackle, conservative tacker, header, chester, juggling and much more.
Graphics: Graphics are pretty good. Should be better for Xbox but it doesn't make the game any worse at all. Really, they're not even that bad but good actually. But Xbox can do better.
Sound: Sound is good. Heads, kicks, hitting the post all sounds real. Commentating is authentic. Commentaters really detailed and accurate.
Suggestions: You already know. Great job though.

Overall: OMG I LOVE THIS GAME!!! ok it did have some flaws but overall it is great. I wish it was possible to have more than one player in world cup but me and my friends decided to host our own cup and we did it by designing brackets and playin the games by friendly's, so it is possible to have tournaments. We're now playing for money about $25.
Gameplay: Gameplay is the best part of this game the characters move like they're supposed to, they get tired, they get injured, and so on... The slide tackling is to perfection and the shooting is perfect on how you can decide how hard you wish to shoot. Even curving the ball adds a lot to they dynamics of the game.
Graphics: Visuals are perfect in the in-game screens I have only noticed some flaws in the video sequences like when you score a goal or a p.k. i noticed that players shake rapidly or sometimes run through each other when celebrating...but thats not the game so it doesn't bother me.
Sound: The commentator was ok, i didn't pay much attention to him but the sound was what I expected..it wouldve been nice to rip tracks to the game but maybe that will be in the future.. i also noticed in other Fifa games that they have music playin in the background but in this game they don't. The fans are at par with the game so that was good
Suggestions: Make it so that you can rip songs so you can listen to your music while playing. make videos after scoring goals better!

Overall: The overall appeal of 2002 FIFA World Cup is that it is the only official world cup game on the xbox. If you love soccer, you need to purchase this game. I bought it on a whim after staying up all night to see the US hand Portugal their !&%$@#* and I am glad I did. It might be the only way you ever see the US, although I personally like their chances this year, win the world cup. That is if you choose to use them. As fun as the game is, it has one glaring problem, the number of teams available is not nearly adequate. The ability to shake the groups up would also give the game more replay valuable.
Gameplay: The gameplay is extremely fun if you like soccer. If you don't like soccer you probably aren't interested in this game anyway. The shot meter and pass meter take some getting used to, as does the airball play. FIFA has some interesting features regarding airballs, in that you can charge up the meter to hit a hellacious shot while the ball is on its way to you in the air.
Graphics: The visual appeals leave a lot to be desired. The players look generally like their real life counterparts, but the textures are grainy and not very well done at all. This is obviously a port and not a very good one.
Sound: The sound is great, especially when you score a goal. If you have surround sound it really sounds like you are in the middle of a stadium. The music is well done, although the orchestra is not really done to my tastes in music. The commentary is pretty good and rarely boring.
Suggestions: If you can make a FIFA 2002 for PS2, PC, and Gamecube, that has every team in the world to choose from, you can make the World Cup game have more teams. I mean, it gets a bit ridiculous when you include Israel, a team that rarely wins a match, and leave out Holland, a perrenial world soccer power. This is a poorly done port (visually) that you used to try to make a quick buck. Upgrade the game for the xbox graphically and ADD MORE TEAMS! Also add the ability to shake up the groups so if I use the US I'm not stuck playing Portugal, South Korea and Poland all the time.

Overall: Awsome! I am not a big fan of normal sports games but this one kicked. The controls are easy and there are a couple different levels to play on. This is a great game
Gameplay: The gameplay was sweet. You can chip it, pass it, volley, head. bicycle the ball, almost anything in soccer. There are star players on each team that have special moves. The gameplay was great.
Graphics: The graphics were good. You can choose from about 5 different camera angles. The players look real. My daad thought it was an actual soccer game!
Sound: The sound was okay. Normal sounds in soccer were there and the anouncers were on target. The crowd always cheered even for the visiting team. It was fine for a soccer game
Suggestions: You should be able to make your own team. That's about it.

Overall: 2002 Fifa World Cup has alot of feeling. The crowd is cheering and booing when they should!!!
The feeling is better than in any fotballgame I have ever played before.
Gameplay: If you want to play a tournament or practise penalty shots. Just forget it. You can only play the world cup or a friendly match. It really is a bit thin, but the game experience is something extra. The controls are great (when you have gotten used to them).
Graphics: The game is much better looking than any other football game I have seen. Up close some* of the players look very much like the real players do.
(*= Only the star players)
The animations are great. One exeption is the tackeling animations, first the player tackels a player, a second later the tackeled player falls. Every tackel looks to be fake. A little sad if you ask me.
Sound: The music is fitting. The crowd cheers and boo's when they usually do. Everything is as it should be if you ask me.
Suggestions: I would like to have some other modes of play!
