"The adventure continues on after it's predecessor. Nightcaster II is a fantasy action game that has *some* RPG elements. Like the first Nightcaster, it's one of a few games of its kind which includes the likes of Azurik: Rise of Perathia."
Overall: Overall is a great game not to miss if you don't mind on something strategy theme. I'm pick this up today just because i like the magic elements showing on demo disc. Looking great ! Gameplay: Ok, with his wife Madelyn, Arran is going stronger to counter the darkness World. Prepare to unleash all your spells to destroy everything in sight. Use Water,Fire, Dark and Light to bring them to hell again. Yeah like the first one, you don't have to think what creatures, demons, ogres or any ennemies have the weakness which of elements, they are all color-coded. But to add spicy to the sequel, the developer have throw some new enemies and new environments. Graphics: What is the most beautiful in this game is the spells, i can't resist to see each one, even there are no monsters, just show off the spell and see it. The environments is like a blank map. There are no destruction things at all, you are just wondering on map and that's it. Sound: Not so impressive, all i can hear is the music (repetitive=always) and some creams of creatures dies. The man character is like a mute thing. Suggestions: Add more things to third installment. Wish there are destruction things too.
Overall: Overall, NC2 an enjoyable game. It will surely not break any grounds but at the same time it will surely not disappoint you either. If you have played the original NC and enjoyed it, you'll enjoy NC2 because it adds a little more depth to the original formula by allowing your character to gain experience and level up. If you have never played the original NC then be prepared for an enjoyable and somewhat addicting game. The game was only $40 too; not too shabby. Gameplay: Game play, NC2 plays extremely close to its predecessor, NC. with a twist. Left analog controls one of 2 choosable characters while the right analog stick controls the direction of your orb (firing mechanism).Your firepower comes in 1 of 4 schools of magic which are color coded: red, blue, yellow, and purple. To simplify things your enemies are colored the same way.
Blue opposes red, yellow apposes purple. So if you see a blue monster, hit it with fire (red) magic. Pretty simple? Not really.
The game just barrages you with monsters of all colors at the same time causing you to swich magic rapidly while firing.
Graphics: Visually, NC2 looks pretty cool. It's visuals are better then the original NC but that is not saying much because the original didn't really break any grounds to begin with. They are not bad, but don't expect Halo. The magic effects do look very nice though. Sound: NC2 plays techno music throughout the game. the sound effects are OK.
Also, on a side note, NC2 does not offer dolby support. For those who have palyed the original, expect the same type of music and sound effects. Suggestions: NC2 would benefit greatly with an on screen map option. A little more interaction with the background would have been nice (trees burinig when fired upon, etc. Overall, you did a fabulous job with NC2.
Overall: Very similar to the original version. A good game to play if you're bored out of your wits and you can't be bothered with any intense games - FIFA & Topspin, then this is the game for you. Nice graphics, colours, sound effects shame that the game is feeble. I had more fun playing Jet Set Willy on my Dragon 32K!!! Gameplay: Gameplay is reasonable, movement is smooth but the bizarre camera angles & movement can sometimes make you feel dizzy. Spell selection is tedious but other than that fairly good. Graphics: Visually this game is pleasant - nice colours/graphics etc, although it is sometimes difficult to determine a creature's colour.
Sound: Sound is good although Arran's guides voice is a little unsettling as when Arran dies she states Oh Arran Oh Arran.... Which gives me the impression he's bumming her. Suggestions: Scrap it - It's feeble!!!!
