Overall: the best football game in my opinion... yes pro evo is in direct competition in terms of gameplay... but i choose fifa for the official teams, stadiums, players... everything. not a huge leap forward from the 2003 version, but sitll... A great game...
Gameplay: gameplay is the same as it has been since I played my first fifa game, ''WORLD CUP 98'' controls are easy to get used to, gameplay is real fun, multiplayer is exciting and tense and everything runs smooth with no slowdown or lag... one of the few complaints would be that the off the ball system... however innovative, it seems flawed and I never got used to it. but learning the off the ball system is not a neccesity to enjoy the great fun availeable with this game.
Graphics: visually good... players could be slightly better,,, as could the pitches and stands... but it is still nice to look at and runs smoothly. not a leap forward from 2003, but still maintains that graphical goodness!
Sound: sound is very good... and commentry is great,,, there are some instances when the commentators might say the wrong thing... but it is rare and does not affect the excellent sound, commentators talk amongst themselves which adds to the realism. music is catchy and generally good, but the option to rip your own trcks would have been welcomed.
Suggestions: well 2005 is already made... so i can only ask for 2006 to boast extra graphical goodness!!

Overall: The best football game I have ever played, far superior the any of the PES series, this game IS football.
Gameplay: Great to play, just like the real thing, the players act like real players, my only problem was the way dead ball situations worked, but I soon got used to them. The only thing that brings this game down is the career mode and menu systems, they just don't work too well, career jumps into the transfer system and the such, but just does a poor job of it.
Graphics: Probably the best looking football game of all time, visually pleasing, the only problem being the fact they only focused on star players, even in big teams such as Arsenal or Man Utd, players like Henry look extremely lifelike while players like Gary Neville obviously are just generic players, other than that pitches and stadiums look great with many great little details.
Sound: Sound is great, realistic chants, great commentary, though it can become slightly repetitive, and great sounds such as the ball being kicked. Only problem here is the terrible menu music, I have to turn the sound off until the game itself starts.
Suggestions: Live play, more focus on realism of players, maybe some more stadiums, menus being less cluttered and confusing and definately a return of Create A Player...

Overall: Initially, this game really iritates the hell out of you, with its bizarre passing and slow reactions of players. Then after a couple hours of intense playing, your timing kicks-in and suddenly you're playing like 1970 World Cup Winning Brazil!!!!
Gameplay: The gameplay is very smooth and controlled, however, FIFA 2003 on the PS2 surpasses this ten-fold with it's arcadie-type hardball/nhl gameplay. When play commence you will usually spend the first few games bumming around in midfield and then booting the ball out of play at every given opportunity. Once you become acustomed to the pattern of play then the gameplay is fun and solid... Like 2003, the gameplay gets a bit mental when you get very good at the game, with bizarre movements from the ball - 'being sucked onto your foot'.
Graphics: Visually this game is stunning, although some players look like they've had their face crushed with a shovel. Player listings can be a little confusing as they are ordered differently depending on what screen you are in. And it would have been more convenient to be able to view your first 11 players on one screen - only displays 9 players on Squad selection team.
Sound: This game has a fine soundtrack, and the in-game effects are reasonable. The only drawback is the constantly annoying Ally McCoist blabberinging on. Although the commentary provides one high-light in the form of John Motson when he says the name Boateng - incredibly funny - sounds more like Bwaarrrtenggg.
Suggestions: Make it more like sensible soccer for the Commodore Amiga.

Overall: Great graphics, gameplay is somewhat difficult, and the Career mode should be a little bit deeper.
Gameplay: Very realistic game speed, but the passing should be a little bit better. The off the ball control is a great new feature, but needs some fine tuning.
Graphics: The Graphics are nearly perfict, you can even see the glare on the ball when you get close up camera views. THe player have the basics of what they really look like, but some of my favorite players have a few incorrect details that I noticed.
Sound: I like the menu music, but after you play the game for 10 minutes you just hear the same commentating over and over. And then sometimes I will be playing a MLS Career mode and they go off talking about how they were watching so and so's preformance at the Barclaycard Championship
Suggestions: More commentating variety, more in depth career mode, and better freestyle and off the ball control. Oh, and create a player and team

Overall: EA's FIFA Soccer 2004 offers the most significant changes the game has seen in years. The core gameplay is changing ever so slowly from super arcade play to a more comprehensive, more realistic style of soccer, and the series is better for it. But it's not quite there yet. The Off The Ball play is good in respects, not so good in others, the Career mode is killer, and the other EA features - from the My FIFA to the unbelievable soundtrack.
Gameplay: The better integrated passing game makes this year's FIFA a richer experience. The tweaks to everything from free kicks to the modifiers are good too. The Off the Ball control is cool in concept, less
Graphics: Cutscenes show good use of contrasted close and distant focus, and in addition to the sharper texturing, the motion capture work has once again improved
Sound: Just an awesome, genuinely awesome, soundtrack. Radiohead, Kings of Leon, The Jam and the Stone Roses? Oh. Yes. Great crowd chants and solid likeable commentary.
Suggestions: wicked job. Just get online for xbox. i think everyone says that.

Overall: I had the opportunity to play MLS Extra Time, Winning Eleven 6 and Fifa 2004. The true crown definitely goes to Fifa 2004,without question. The presentation, audio, commentary, and gameplay all combine to bring the gamer into the shoes of the best soccer players in the world. In addition, the FIFA 2004 controls are much more intuitive than Winning Eleven. Sorry, Winning Eleven fans, your game is not as fun and exhilirating as Fifa 2004. FIFA IS KING OF SOCCER ONCE AGAIN!

Gameplay: FIFA 2004 is both intuitive and challenging. It plays at 60fps for the most part. The game has a low/moderate learning curve. The novice/intermediate player will be able to perform basic moves and still encounter an enjoyable experience. The advanced player, however, will be required to practice and hone their respective abilities. The game truly plays like a chess match. The offensive and defensive game play an equal part in winning. This, in essence, exemplifies the sport of soccer.
Graphics: FIFA 2004 provides a wide variety of authentic stadiums and player models. This really draws the player into the game. Unfortunately, the backgrounds and crowd seem a bit washed out.
Sound: The commentary and audio blend extremely well into the game. This includes the crowds and chants that blend extremely well in the gameplay. Although, the repetition of Motson and his cohert can become annoying. Otherwise, the audio is spot on.

Suggestions: I recommend working to lessen the repetition of the commentary. In addition, I would definitely incorporate a realtime climate control weather model. This would provide a true environmental simulation of the sport while enhancing the gameplay.

Overall: Probably one of the most fun games to play besides Halo(in my humble opinion), If you love soccer or even any sport I almost guarantee you'll like Fifa Soccer 2004. Also with EA sports bio when you play other 2004 EA sports games you unlock rewards in other games (i.e. if you play madden 2004 you also unlock rewards in Fifa 2004 and vice versa)
Gameplay: Lots of improvements to 2003. Off the Ball control lets you control another player that doesn't have the ball and allows you to do some insane plays (offensively). Shooting is a whole lot easier and more accurate, but goalies in the game are also a lot better. Another great new part of this game is the two new modes available in the game. Career mode allows you to build a career of your own in almost any club team out of 23 leagues. The only reason this game lacks in gameplay is because of its lack of system link (no xbox connect support :-/). This game is still awesome and you still can play multiplayer on one screen.
Graphics: Wow the details are just pretty. Of course you still have the broadcast view (like looking down from box seats at a stadium) during gameplay, up close like throw ins, Penalty kicks, and replays all have exquisite detail. For visual effects it definitely is on par witb other sports games out there. Oh yeah and the Ball looks SHINY!
Sound: Well I believe the commentary is much improved, even after 7 or 8 hours of playing I started to hear a lot of repetitive anouncing. Of course 7 or 8 hours is not bad it still can get tedious those nights your playing with friends and no ladies around. But by far the soft rock music soundtrack goes really well (a lot of music I listen to) and sounds from in game action are all authentic sounding.
Suggestions: Maybe 2005... system link?
Online tournaments on xbox live so you and your friends can have a league tournament (rewards)
