I was wondering if there is anyway to play mpeg movies, avi. etc... on the xbox? Do I change the format of the movie? what do I do if I want to get this to work?

The only way that is going to happen is if someone hacks the XBOX. Don't hold your breath.

Does the xbox play VCD's? If it does then yes you could. That's as far as I'm taking this topic.

I can think of a few good reason`s it would be cool to be able to play mpeg movies and avi.`s over the X-Box using Cd-RW disk.
One would be to collect all your favorite game trailers, and play them back to back.

Try burning an image of that VCD onto a CDRW and then try playing it. The xbox might just be having trouble reading the CD. I have legal music cds that it won't read. Might be worth a shot.

i would count out watching mpeg's...they will have to be converted to a wma format and probably a modified one...so ms would probably hvae to publish the movies on a disk..

All in good time folks all in good time. If they can make the DC play Mp3's, VCD's and Scroll through JPEGS I can just imagine what the XBOX is gonna be able to do
