Nintendo Hint That Gamecube Launch Is Closer Than You
European 'cube launch "a few weeks" after the start of Febraury
Nintendo have announced that they will be making an appearance at the Milia games show, which takes place in Cannes, France on 4-8 February.
In a typically obtuse statement, Nintendo are saying that the Gamecube showcase comes "just a few weeks ahead of its official European consumer launch" which suggests that Gamecube may well be going head-to-head with Xbox.
As well as demoing games including Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin, Super Smash Bros Melee, Eternal Darkness, Star Wars Rogue Squadron 2, FIFA World Cup 2002 and Sonic Adventure 2, Nintendo will hold a press conference on 5 February. It is here that a European release date for the console is finally expected to be confirmed.
