Hi.
Heard a lot of things about the Thompson drives been not so good and the Samsung one being better. How do I find out which one I have? I just bought my box like 1 month ago.
Thanks.

Same here. Bought mine the 2nd week they came out. No probs with my Thompson drive either. Much quiter than my nephews that has the Samsung.
well my thompson started crapping out on me a little over a year after i bought it...and it just finally broke down on me like a week ago..luckily the price drop and the SE xbox bundle came to rescue me.

My new one has a Phillips, my old one had a craptastic Thompson.
Do they still make Thompsons? I asked MS but they gave a totaly irelevent response. Something like, "thank for contacting, it looks like we need to go deeper into this issue, please phone the custumer careline on....."

Oh, but it does.
My Thompson has been going strong since last February. Only a few DDEs, and none that were recent. Nothing wrong here .
