No more pre-orders for the 360!!

November 4th is the rumoured date. It wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft released it on or around the original Xboxes release date.

this is on a friday! no one releases a console on a friday, most of the time they are on thursdays and rare occasions they are on tuesdays so I dont know how reliable this is.

I think they are going to do what they did about 5 years ago at launch, and that is have everyone excited about the release of it and then change it a couple of weeks before the launch.

I think they had it set for like the 11/9/01 and then they changed it to 11/15/01.

I was reading that is because they have better luck wtih things that launch on the 15 of November for some reason.

O well only time will tell what is going to happen.

BTW all of my game stores are pre-ordered out, so it looks like me and my fiance are going to be spending the night in front of best buy. unless they do a mid-night maddness kinda thing and you know they arent going to be doing that.

This is a rumored date that no one can be sure of. We will have to wiat till M$ officially reports it themselfs...on purpose.

I hope for one that is closer to say....September. Although I am probably a little to hopeful, I cant help but dream :sleeping:

There not going to release a console anytime before November. This is the key month to christmas shopping. All the kids are going to see this in stores and ads and say mommy mommy thats what I want.

If they release it in sept. they are going to have more time to sell the console and there wont be as big of a demand for it in comming months. (Companies like when people have to stand in line and fight over things for some reason)

So thats why november is the key month for most game manufactuers and game companys to release games and hardware.

I didn't get a chance to preorder due to work obligations. It wont bother me any to wait a bit longer for the XBOX 360. All I know is that I am going to get the 360 and love every second of playing games on it.

I went down the other day to Game Crazy... asked them if they were still taking pre-orders... the guy said "Yes".. then I asked "for first shipment" .. and the guy said "Yep"

And then I said "GIVE ME!" lol well I didn't say the last thing, but I went ahead and pre-ordered mine. This will be my first launch system ever.

Still don't plan on pre-ordering mine. Stores are going to make sure they have some on the shelves.. they aren't going to pre-order their supply out and risk having nothing to sell for the lineups that come at midnight. I got Halo 2 without pre-ordering on the first day.. a friend got it 3 days later no problem (though it was the final one they had).

You will have no problem if you go early on the first day.

Everyone I know that went to get a PS2 got it on launch day. Again I think it equates to being in Toronto (or Canada altogether) Prehaps they over estimate how many will sell, so the stock is always there... I have just never had a problem getting something on launch day.

Though if the impossible happens and it's not there.. I will be crushed. If anywhere around here starts offering pre-orders, I may do it.. but only if they're offering something with the pre-order.

i got lucky with my pre-order. i went ot hte mall, talked to EB and they said they werent taking any preorders on the 360 anymore, but they took my name and said they would call if htey got more or someone backed out. i went tot he gamestop at the mall and they were only takin preorders on the 2nd shipment and they said that would be in sometime between november 15th and christmas. so i figured there are like 4 walmarts, 3 kmarts, target, 2 shopko's, sams club, basically plenty of stores to buy from on launch day so i wasnt all that worried about it. 2 days later eb call me and said they got more preorders for their first shipment. so, even tho i was gonna try to get one w/o preordering i still think that u will be able to, but i wanted one FOR SURE. so im getting one for sure cuz i got lucky lol

Honestly, none of you dudes should sweat this...The retail shelves will be mightily stacked with Xbox2 stuff...look at it this way...even if you go to a mid-level store such as Tarjay or EB, 200 sold premium packages with 2 games will be more than 100g's in sales(do the math). can you say overstock is more profitable than understock?
I m sure that mostly everyone with the scrill on launch day will be going home with an Xbox2...
I never believed in pre-orders because I ve never been a hasty consumer...
besides, I ll probably wait for the 1st price drop...$500-600 bucks is a bit steep for xbox2(along with 2 games and extra accessories such as controllers), considering that I still love xbox and have more than 70 games to play...still enjoying my initial investment...

everybody is so worried about pre ordering an xbox 360, I own my own video game store, and no its not a big chain either, it's one store, but anyways, eb and gamestop always sell more preorders than they ever get in systems, they tend to piss off more people than they make happy, why dont you guys get it through your thick skulls and support your locals, trust me on this, microsoft does not want any shortages on this system, they want to win in this next gen race.
