Xbox and Xbox 360 play halo 2 together?

Hi all,

Im new, contemplating getting an xbox 360. Mainly because i was waiting for sony's rival and was dissapointed so... xbox 360 it is.

I searched and could not find the answer, and on this site the search features is not working at the moment so, my question is wheather or not somone who is playing halo 2 on the regular xbox can play vs somone playing halo 2 on an xbox 360 both at a local lan or on xblive? I am going to be haveing our usual xbox halo party and a buddy of mine was wondering if he could participate somehow with his xbox 360 while the rest of us slow pokes upgrade.

Halo 2 is backwards compatable.

so yes you can play halo 2 on your 360 with your friend on a xbox over XBL. i dont know about LANs though. i think you can though

I know from experience at a LAN party.
