I have a Philips 42pf5331 (tv) which supports 480p, 720p and 1080i (yes I know it does not truly support 1080i). I have chosen to run Xbox360 in 720p mode. But I have had some problems lately. At the far left side of the screen a jaggty vertical line appears when I try to move the characters in games, it doesnt matter what game (I have had the same problem in Gears of War, Fifa 07 demo etc.) I'm playing, as soon as I try to move the character (for example Marcus in GoW) a jaggy vertical line appears at the far left side of the screen. Its a small line, and its almost as if I can see through the screen. In-game in GoW its blue, while at the startup menu its red, so I guess its color depends on the background of the picture that is on the screen at the particular moment.
I have chosen HDTV on the switch on the AV cable. I'm using the component cable that accompanied the premium pack. I think this problem occured after I had been messing around behind the tv, after I bought a Nintendo wii. I unplugged and plugged all cables behind the TV a few times, because of various reasons. Right now I have a decoder and the Wii connected to the Scart sockets on the back of the TV, while the Xbox360 is connected to the component connector.
I've tried to unplug everything but the Xbox360, but the problem is still there. There are no problems if I choose 480p or 1080i. Has anyone else had a similar problem? I think there are some problems with the component cable I'm using, or atleast I hope thats the cause of the problem, and not the tv. I'll call support on wednesday, but just figured someone might have experienced something similar here. :)
