The fan in my 360 sounds louder if its vertical so I leave it horizontal, nothing different performance wise though

try turning it on horizontal while playing your favorite game then move it to vertical after a few minutes... you will notice a change in play.

I remember reading that you need to remove any disc in the drive before you move or tilt the unit.

Mine is horizontal.

I keep my xbox360 horizontal because it's been broken for the past month or so I use it as a step up step. lol

My 360 doesn't even read games when it's vertical so it's always been horizontal. It's like totally broke whenever it's vertical.
