Xbox 360 and Xbox LAN?

I haven't laned with my friend in forever. I was wondering if it's possible for me and him to LAN with an xbox and an xbox 360. He has an original xbox without xbox live. We'd be playing Ghost Recon over my hub.

Just incase anyone is curious it does work, although Ghost Recon voice chat doesn't work for Xbox 360.
