I heard back fro China, and the lady's boss said their minimum order quantity is TWO THOUSAND. I don't know if that's two thousand of one image, or if I can choose from a number of images (better be a HUGE number). Anyway, I don't see a 2,000 plate purchase in my personal future any time soon. Not done talking to them though so I'll keep you up to date.

More info from China. Her numbers were correct. It seems like they will print plates to order in quantities of 2,000 PER IMAGE. So, if someone wanted the Stockholm plate, they'd have to order 2,000 of them, just to get one. Ditto for the Madden XX plate.

My thing is, if the artwork is done for those, then SOMEONE had to have plates made from them. So where the heck ARE they?

That is what stuck me as being so odd about it. Presumably they were given out to everyone who went to the Stockholm event, yet only one person actually seems to have one! And he seems to be keeping pretty tight lipped about it. Don't suppose the Chinese company could send you a 'sample plate'? ;)

Yeah, I mean, I considered that, but even at only a dollar a piece, that's two thousand dollars for one faceplate. If I sold twenty of the others for fifty bucks a piece, I'd only make a grand back. I seriously doubt I could sell a hundred of them for $20 each.

Basically, you're looking at a $300 investment in shoes and games to get the plate. I checked with a Foot Locker. They said when they came out, they got ONE. What size do you pick when you only make ONE? And they're bball shoes? 13? 18?

It would suck to spend that $$$ to get the game and the plate and have to sell off the shoes because they weren't your size.

This is the Madden XX plate. Apparently only ten of them were made, and Sean has two of them so he's parting with one.

$270 for BIN is a STEAL for this plate. It's certainly cheaper than buying 2,000 of them from China for $2.30 a piece.

That's Ghostrider. Those are legit. With them being signed by Andrew Stanton, they're well worth that $550. My Iron Giant that is signed by Brad Bird... man, I wouldn't part with that for less than a thousand dollars.

There were twelve of the vertical WALL-E plate made, but that yellow one that looks like WALL-E's front is a one of a kind made by me. That's real rust on it, BTW.

There are only ten of them. The last one that sold was part of a deal between me and tacohead. He had two, shipped me one, and it was stolen by someone at UPS. It was insured for $500. About that time, one went up on eBay from a different location for $350 BIN so he bought it and sent it to me.

Since then the only other one has been another one by this guy. He listed it for $149 and it went immediately. Now he's listed the second one at $299. Had he not sold the first one stupid cheap he'd probably have sold this one in a heartbeat, but everybody can see how cheap the other one sold for so they don't want to do it. Personally, if you've got the cash and want the plate, I'd go as high as $350 or $400 for one, so $300 is a deal.

Hey, anyone remember the gold Mass Effect plates I made two years ago that were signed in silver by the team leads? One of them just sold on eBay. Actually, it was "free" included with a whole bunch of limited edition 360 games that went for $1,800. Nice games. Anyway, the guy doesn't collect plates and wants to sell it. I told him to come here and post about it, but that was only a couple of hours ago.

If anyone is interested in this, his eBay name is onlibo. I told him it was probably worth $200 to $300 so if you want to offer him $50 or something, he probably won't take it. With ME2 being as hot as it is, it's worth more than that.

I haven't been able to get an answer. The people I know at EA worked on NCAA, not Madden, and my local store that does midnight releases weren't on the list to do a Madden release so they didn't get a faceplate.

I also listed all of the Eternal Sonata plates separately because I thought they might sell better than trying to do them in one expensive lot.

But there is one small discrepancy about that bioshock plate. On the ebay one, its made from a white plate. The one from the database is on a black plate. Discuss.

Pretty cool looking Red Dead Redemption faceplate. The console is printed, too, but he's only selling the faceplate (for too much money, IMHO).

Anyway, main point here is that the guy just cut n' pasted my item description format and then cannibalized it. I just didn't want anyone to jump to conclusions that it's my auction. It's not like it's HARD to change a font or a color or a size, sheesh.
