So for those here in the community I was wondering which way you put your console in while playing your games...??? I've always been partial to keeping my 360 in a horizontal position mainly cause w/ 3 kids I don't want to risk it falling or being knocked over.
not to mention I had read somewhere that vertical causes, in some cases, issues w/ the laser for disc tracking.

So what's your position..??

I do mine horizontally for a few reasons. Cooling, laying it down keeps the bottom ports open, Save disk, vertically cause the dreaded one ring of death, the permanent ring that can't be fixed. Looks, I think my Elite looks better laying down, mostly because my DVD player is black also, and I have the cool Spacey custom Syler slash Heroes plate on it, looks better.

Horizontal. The only way to fit it in the stand under the HDTV.

exactly...besides isn't horizontal better for the longevity of the machine and also better for the game discs?

I used to keep mine vertical next to my son's Wii. But since I bought a new TV, I bought a new entertainment center. So now I keep them both horizontally on top so they can get the most air and I keep their respective power bricks right behind them so they can ventilate too.

Blah I switch between them, right now it's vertical so I can use my cooling stand and because it's tucked between the CPU and a speaker with only a small amount of room...

Horizontal. Just because I always have and always will.

Though I have to have my Wii standing up, it looks weird lying down :/

I've noticed that too, I laid mine on top of my 360, just looks completely weird without it standing, or it's base.

Dangit, I guess I should have read the post first. I didn't really know what the thing was about so I just put vertical. i actually keep my horizontal because the main ventilation is on the bottom and if you cover that up then you have to worry about overheating.

I'm going to have to take a picture of my little setup because I think the Wii and 360 look fine horizontal on top of my enclosed center that's beneath my wall mounted plasma TV.

When I do get that picture up.. ignore the exposed wire bundle, I haven't found a pretty way to tuck that **** away. One of my HDMI cables is too short to bundle in with the rest. You'll see what I mean.

The general concept:

Well, that's the set up.
50 inch plasma, surround sound theater, digital cable box, 360, Wii, LED lights mounted behind the TV at four corners, and an enclosed book shelf that holds all the stuff.
The AV cable for the Wii and the HDMI cable for the cable box ended up being too short so thats why they're not bundled up with the main cable run.
After I fix that problem, then I hide the cables better with a plastic track.

EDIT:
I just realized that the plastic carpet pucks are still under the legs of the book shelf. Crap.. forgot to take those off. (Just rearranged the whole living room last month.)
