HORAY FOR NXE.... or not

The New Xbox Experience is in the process of being deployed to all Xbox LIVE members, but it will take a few hours for everyone to get the prompt to update to NXE….be patient! so in the meantime, I thought I would give my Top 10 list of things to do with NXE when you get it later today

Mine is working fine, I installed Fallout 3 to the hardrive, damn think took 5.6GB of my HD, now I only have 2GB left ahuahuahu... I actually enjoyed the NXE, but I can already predict the future: Microsoft charging for avatar clothing ahuauhahu

Of course they will as well as all the developers. The clothing is the same concept as gamerpics and themes. There will be some free stuff, but most will come with a pricetag. You'll probably also have the occassional avatar swag unlockable in a game like gamerpics. I have no issue with any of this.

Seems a little bumpy as of the last hour. A lot of locking up waiting for information to load. It releases eventually, but kinda annoying. I guess its to be expected though with such a drastic update.

Skipped a bunch of classes in undergrad and I turned out ok. Either way the update in install and now I'm playing around with it.

I think I have one problem with my xbox after this update, when I turn it on now it makes a loud noise (probably the disc drive) and I have no idea why...

I was thinking it would be pretty cool to be able to change the stuff behind your avatar when scrolling through your friends list. Well I was changing my theme to a Gears 2 one I just dl and low and behold my friends list are all standing in front of Gears locations or items. Pretty cool :) My pony tail does not show up for my avatar :( lol

Chill out man, when I got my Xbox (last year, but it's a 2006 version) I was always afraid it would go RROD, so I wouldn't force it, it was VERY noisy and VERRY hot, I didn't force it too much, and after a month or so it wasn't getting any hotter than my PS2 and the noise became "normal" again... I am getting a new Xbox in December though, I NEED that Falcon thing and 120GB or at least 60GB huauhauha

When taking your gamer pic, have your guy look sideways and then take the pic. You'll get a sideview of his head, but should catch the ponytail if it's that important.

eh the nxe is alright at best. the new interface is somewhat nice, the netflix thing is pointless for me so that wasn't a big deal, my sw art is now cut in half by half of a silver circle. I'm not interested in playing with dolls so the avatars are useless for me as well. I'd personally rather have the old dash back but just add the feature of the hard drive install. Is there a way to get the old dash back?

I really like the look of the new dashboard, but things seem to be either out of place or impossible to find. You should be able to see your friends list on your little card in the My Xbox area instead of having to open your guide button or switch to the friends section. Also it should start on the My Xbox section when you go to the dash.

No, once your console is updated there is no going back. I like the new dash more than the old one, mostly because it is faster and more slick looking. The marketplace is awesome as it has information about the game all in one place, including sceenshots, videos and a description of the game.

Give it a little more time, I think it will grow on most people once they start finding some of these features that were added.

No, but if you press the guide button and use the mini menu, that's close as you will get to it.

It takes a minute for it to load all of my folders whereas it took a couple of seconds on the old dashboard. I think the reason is that it converts the file names into actual Artist:Song:Album catergories which is cool...but all in all I give it an A-

Nah, I would rate an "A" purely because it's new and there are less complaints really about the new dash than there are compliments. I give it an "A" because it satisfies all my wants, not an "A+" because nothing's perfect lol.

Once you get past making an Avatar, it's very cool. Honestly, when creating the Avatar, I felt like I got rid of my XBox 360 to get a Wii....but, fortunately, the creating an Avatar process wasn't too painful.

I still haven't signed up for Netflix, but, likely will soon. It's such a killer option, I think. I also appreciate the fact that we can now download a game to the hard drive. When my wife and kid fall asleep, I'm wide open for playing vids nice and late...the problem before was that I have to turn my TV's volume down but it was hard to hear over the jet sounding 360...but, with the game on the hard drive, there are no moving parts; therefore, no noise....

Of course, I could just use headphones, but, that's a pain if I want to play on-line and use my mic.

i actually hate it! its way to complicated to do a simple task now with its hundreds of different menues and sub menues. and i hate the avatar so much, that should have been an optional feature. they have turned it into a complex wiibox wii-sixty. emphasis on the wii part. the netflix thing would have been cool if it had current release movies, not old movies i dont care about. sigh... at least it has superbad.

same but mine got fixed once so its more like a bus pulling out of a station, overloaded with old people and their families

If you didn't get it fixed, you would have the same situation, but, the bus would be one of those double deckers and every old person and their families would be completely and utterly obese......yeah, mine sounds like that.

I wouldn't have it any other way....I have a freakin' antique 360!!!!
