Games on Demand... really? (http://www.xboxaddict.com/news/9635/360-Games-on-Demand-service-in-question..html)

This makes some sense but hopefully some of the prices will be lower and it will be interesting to see how large the file sizes are.

whats your take on this service??

My take is that I am not even going to look at it till I see MS have a cheap solution to storage for games. I have a 120 gig HDD and its half full.

well one of the main issues that have arisen w/ the gaming community is price. A lot of these games are very old and most you can find used for less than $10 so what will MS's pricepoint be for these titles, and will you have to purchase the dlc seperately or will it already come w/ the download? lots of questions still need to be answered and it seems like the service alone is going through its "growing pains" as well.

If they done a games on demand rental option, that might be good, say £2-£3 for a weeks rental of any game..... MS would rake the money in and storage wouldn't be a problem because it would be deleted from the HDD once the rental time is completed.

I can get all of those games for significantly lower prices online in hardcopy. I don't really see the point of this service, actually. It's nice for people with fat wallets and a lack of motivation I guess. :P

Yeah this service is pretty much a ripoff considering you can get these games for less on disc and you'll actually be able to resell them.

So Games on Demand has turned into a big joke. The prices are insane. You can run to the store, buy a game (for 1/2 or 1/3 the cost), and rip it to your HDD with hours of time to spare vs downloading through LIVE.

You can install to the Harddrive but you still need the disc in the tray, you can't 'rip' to the drive though

its best to just save your $ on these titles and pick them up used. lol be a "smart gamer" and spend a fraction of the cost and pick up the game, then if you want to buy dlc for it, you'll have the extra money to do so. I wouldn't spend $30 on oblivion and then pay for the dlc as well, esp. when a collectors edt. of that game can be bought for around 14.99, then use the extra $ to buy the dlc for it.

Although, technically it's worth the price.. it can be bought so much cheaper in stores.

The service is extremely overpriced, but I suppose if you live in a very rural area, it might be handy..
