If it's good, I'm definitely in. However, I have my doubts.

I can't wait for this one. The hardcore mode looks sick. No map, no hud, no damage indicator, no ammo counter, nothing.
I plan on picking this one up myself.

Cool, wicked is in. I'll buy it opening day as long as the reviews for it are not ****. We'll play the whole thing through coop hardcore mode.

As did I. Supposedly this new one is by a new developer but is being published by the old publisher. Arma 2 which is eventually coming out for 360 is made by the original developer. I'm hoping this new Dev does a good job and finely polishes this game.

I'm going to have to see and read more on it first as nothing really stands out for me terribly yet

Just the memories of the original flashpoint and rogue spear are enough to give me a chubby.

Haha.. old Rogue Spear player too huh?

BY ANY chance did you play at TheRumble.com .. or something like that The Rumble Ladder... ??

Well from what is being said about the new Flashpoint.. sounds very cool. The Hardcore level sounds interesting.. though with a controler, and my rusty skills (don't play FPS games like I use to), sounds like I'd die every 5 seconds lol

Well, it doesn't look like a run and gun game which is partially why I like it. We'll have to actually plan out where we go, when we go, how we go, etc. It forces you to be cautious and implement sound tactics and strategy which I especially appreciate.

Yeah, it takes actual skill to play this one, unlike COD which all you have to do is aim. The A.I. in this one is sweet also. It varies as you play and how well your doing determins how many enemies will be at the next area ahead.

Another note on the hardcore mode, no saving/checkpoint system.

Operation Flashpoint 2's Hardcore Mode Will Make Fairies Out of All of You
Written Thursday, June 25, 2009 by Dan Webb

We heard a few whisperings about Operation Flashpoint 2's hardcore mode at this year's E3 from the game's Executive Producer, Sion Lenton. Now the frankly sadistic producer has spilled the beans about what the mode will entail when the game hits this fall.

Over at the official Codemasters forums, Lenton states, "the hardcore mode in Operation Flashpoint will contain no HUD/UI elements at all other than radio chatter subtitles. That’s right, no crosshair, no compass, no gun or ammo displays… Nothing …"

"There will be no objective markers, no bleed meter, no direction of fire indicator, no enemy location highlights and no damage indicators. Nothing!"

He goes on to say, "all navigation will have to be done via the map; calling up your QCR (quick command radial) will show you your fireteam status only while the button is held, and pressing weapons select will bring up the weapon/ammo selection menu, again only visible whilst the button is pressed. In addition there are no checkpoints, no soft saves and no hard saves, there’s only one word for it, HARDCORE!!!"

Holy didgeridoo!! Now that sounds ... friggin mental! Are you man enough? I'm not sure I am. I'll stick to my hot cup of Bovril and a nice slice of toast ... for now.

There are a lot of new gameplay videos that have been released in the last month. Here's a link to just a few. This game looks VERY promising. It's the first game I've really been excited about in the last 2 years.
