Hey guys,

Do you know if Microsoft ever released something that would allow you to back up your hard drive or transfer data from one HD to another?

I got an E68 error this morning when booting my system up, and now I'm concerned my hard drive's going to fail sooner than later. I'd care less if it was a red ring since the hardware can be replaced, but I don't want to lose my game saves and then trudge through and figure out which DLC I had when I replace my hard drive.

All I did in the meantime was clean the system and the connectors and it seemed to work fine again.

You can use a USB flash/mass storage device to copy/backup your content to. Here is a link to an Xbox.com page in relation to it: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/Storage/

Or this configure USB Storage device as storage device: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981974?sd=xbox

Hope this helps and good luck..

Any USB stick or Hard Drive will work. Only catch is it'll only let you use maximum 16Gb per device (even if you plug in your 500Gb hard drive), but you can back up whatever you need (game saves should fit quite easily)
