- Price. Regardless of new technology I will not spent more than $350 on either console. Maybe $400 max, but probally not.. Also $70 for a game is unaceptiable.
i dont think you have to worry about price, both ms and sony know that people arent going to pay heaps of money... you can expect it to be below 400 at launch

Oblivion. As in the new elder scrolls game. right now its safe to assume it will come to X2, but its probally coming to PS3 also. I want to play this game in all its glory so if PS3 is really that much more powerfull than X2, and you can see the differance in this game i may lean towards ps3. Also time, its also probally safe to assume it will come to x2 before ps3. If the time differance is alot ill probally lean towards X2.. Although i dont think it will come in 2005 to any system (X2, PC) i say late 2006..
well this is a stunning game as you can tell by the screens.. but as of yet you csnt tell which system it will run best on, xbox2 specs havnt been released and ps3s have only been rumoured... id say its safe to say that both xbox2 and ps3 will be very similar in specs... but id imagine xb2 will have a slight edge over ps3 to try to win back its current consumors

Controller. I love xbox controller hate ps2 controller. Will microsoft and sony desighn completly new controllers or keep the same ones? also i dont like the whole wireles X2 thing, but well see how it turns out. I love FPS games and xbox controller works great for these.
well i dont think that the xb2 will have wireless controllers, they want to keep the practicallity up and the costs down...
but in terms of design you can expect both consoles to go for if not the same, a very similar control design... although there is talk about that xbox2 controllers might not have the black or white buttons...
-Games. I love games like Oblivion, not nessasarly RPG's just BIG games. and i love

FPS. I loved halo and halo 2. with ps3 i can see all the good FPS going to ps3 as well as X2. I belive the only reason ps2 was deprived of good FPS was beacuse it was underpowered and maybe controller desighn. Next generation it probally wont be a problem for either console. I can see HL2, HL3, Doom 3 and 4, far cry 2, stalker, unreal 3 being on both consoles as well as plentty other AAA Fps being multiplatform.
thats a reasonable presumption, and id say its partly right.. as a good fps should have better hardware to run on... but id say the main reason for the lack of fps games was because the ps2 is basically a japanese console... and more japanese influenced games, and japanese developers work with it.. so that is why we end up seeing mostly rpgs etc... but it was the oposite with the xbox, as it was mainly american, we saw mostly fps games developed as opposed to rpgs.. however MS have fixed this problem for xbox2 though, by signing numerous japanese publishers and developers.

- BC. As in backwards compatiable if X2 has it this is a major plus. If PS3 has it i dont care.
bc is still unconfirmed... and id say there is a 50/50 chance that we will see it in the xbox2

-Power. This may or may not be a big factor depending on the differance between the two. If its a big differance like this gen than yeah it will be a factor. If not then no it wont be a factor.
the difference of power is probably going to be small, and it has even been rumoured that xbox2 and ps3 will be using the same ibm processor... even if this is the case it is not a major issue, because depending on the graphics card capabilities of the xbox2s ati card *codenamed FUDO, and understood to be a variation of the R500 or R520.
another important factor (which ps2 was so lacking in) is virtual memory/ RAM... hopefully we will se at least 512mbs of ram in xbox2, or ideally 1gb... but in terms of ram and graphics card capabilities again you can expect both xbox2 and ps3 to be similar
