Hmmm... so that's who I need to kill for bidding like an idiot and driving up the price.
He threw down bids in increments of $30-$40 until he passed the (then current) high bidder.
I just throw up my highest bid with about 30 seconds left and let the chips fall where they may. It avoids bidding wars and doesn't give anyone else time to attempt to start one in the end.
