Warner Announces FEAR 3 for Fall 2010
Warner Bros. Interactive announced a sequel to F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin this morning. According to the announcement, the franchises creators at Monolith Studios have passed the torch to Day 1 Studios, developers of Fracture and the console ports of the original F.E.A.R..
Whats new for F.E.A.R. 3? Warner Bros. seems keen to highlight the new co-operative multiplayer as the most substantial addition. Players will command either the first games genetically engineered protagonist, Point Man, or Paxton Fattel, his undead, cannibalistic brother. Both characters will apparently sport their own unique set of abilities, which sound like they could open up some really interesting combat scenarios in co-op.
Day 1 Studios has also enlisted the help of horror film legend John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing) and 30 Days of Night comic writer Steve Niles. Theyve both assisted in shaping the games horror aspects and cutscenes, and Niles in particular worked with the development team to co-write the script.
