Bungie Not Finished With Halo
The majority of Halo developer Bungies staff will remain exclusively focused on the upcoming Halo: Reach, and will not work on the new series until work on the game has been completed.
Speaking to 1UP this morning, Bungies Brian Jarrard related that todays announcement that the studio has partnered with Activision for a new project will not detract from Halos development.
"To be clear were not finished with Halo, we still have a lot of work to do on Reach to make that game awesome for the fall, and thats definitely going to be our focus," said Jarrard. "Youre not going to hear much about [the new series] for the rest of the year."
According to Jarrard, a small core team is working in the pre-production phase of the studios new project, while the "vast majority" of Bungies staff remains committed to Reach. The goal, says Jarrard, is that "when Reach completes, we can roll the rest of our team into our new project and hit the ground running and really start going crazy from there."
"We continue to have a great relationship with Microsoft, were going to continue working very closely on Reach through launch and beyond, and well continue to be great partners," said Jarrard.
