(RUMOR) - BioWare Teases New Game Again, Mass Effect 3?
Since issuing a teaser image for a game announcement coming during the Spike TV VGAs in December, weve gotten some additional clues and theories as to what BioWare has up its sleeve. An anonymous source has suggested that what is to be announced is a multiplayer-focused Mass Effect game, which certainly sounds possible.
Besides a very short teaser video (which is where the teaser image came from), BioWare has now released several binary codes which have been deciphered (via Eurogamer). The first turned out to be the number 55.845, which translates to the atomic weight of iron. The second could be read as -128.5 degrees Fahrenheit, the coldest temperature ever recorded on Earth. The temperature was measured in Vostok, Antartica. Vostok, as noted by Eurogamer, is also the name of a system in the Mass Effect series.
A third image has been posted on BioWares Facebook today, with that one pointing to the homepage of MI6 (via G4tv), which any James Bond fan will know is the British Secret Intelligence Service. The previous two clues seemed to possibly (although not definitely) point towards a new Mass Effect game, but this latest one seems to suggest otherwise.
Regardless, while those clues come together in the weeks prior to the VGAs, the official PlayStation account for Russia has gone ahead and tweeted something about Mass Effect 3. A translation by Google suggests that the aforementioned teaser trailer has shown us the first footage of Mass Effect 3.
Whether or not the translation is especially accurate, its entirely possible that the Sony employee who was responsible for the tweet is simply guessing or was misinformed when he or she mentioned Mass Effect 3. Or perhaps this was a mistake on Sonys part and the tweet has blown the surprise. If that is the case, its unclear now how the MI6 clue factors into things. Whatever the case may be, well know for sure in a few weeks when the announcement is made at the VGAs on December 11.
