Microsoft Demos tighter Windows Phone and Kinect
Microsoft has shown off some tighter Windows Phone and Kinect integration.
The software giant revealed the interactivity between Windows Phone and Kinect at Mobile World Congress earlier this year. Microsoft has now taken the chance to demonstrate some further integration between Windows Phone and Kinect. The company revealed that Windows Phones will be able receive reminders from Xbox for Live TV scheduling. Microsofts Bing listings will also be shared to Windows Phone. Xbox users who use Bing to search can then text the details of their search results to a Windows Phone. Its not clear whether this functionality is available to other phones but as the system appears to use SMS it will likely work on every phone. WPCentral notes that the integration will minimize effort for end users.
Microsoft has been quiet on the Xbox Kinect and Windows Phone gaming front. After the initial demonstration in February, its not clear when the company plans to announce games that make use of both platforms simultaneously. The software maker is currently working on a big Windows Phone update codenamed Mango. Microsoft unveiled a number of new Windows Phone Mango features at a VIP event in May. Mango will include over 500 new features ranging from multitasking through to some major Bing search improvements. For more information on Mango check-out our special Mango section.
