Could Xbox Store pricing be getting more competitive in the future?
Microsoft will look into competitive pricing for digital content on Xbox platforms, according to comments from Xboxs Larry Hryb on Reddit.
Hrybs comments are part of a thread discussing digital pre-orders for Respawn Entertainments Titanfall on Xbox One and Xbox 360, which do not include the $10 Xbox gift card Microsoft Stores are offering with physical pre-orders. According to Hryb, the Xbox digital pricing policy could change in the future, noting that competitive pricing for downloadable titles is something Microsoft has on its radar.
"We are way aware of this and many of the concerns of the community — we have some great stuff planned for Xbox One this year (and beyond)," he wrote, noting Xbox will share details "as soon as we can.
"Its on the agenda," Hryb said of changes to digital pricing.
Currently, pricing for downloadable titles through the Xbox Games Store are equal to purchasing physical copies at retail. In December, Microsoft bumped the prices of digital versions of Xbox One exclusives by £5.
