Xbox in Production for Europe
Yesterday Microsoft announced that the production of the Xbox is now in full progress in Europe. The Xbox is Microsofts gamesystem of the new generation, it has graphics that are never shown before and phenomenal gameplay. MS announced this at a pressconference in Sarvar, Hongary, the hometown of European Xbox manufacturer Flextronics. The Hunguariun government en the productionpartner of the Xbox, flextronics, were gathered to see the first Xbox Units roll out of the factory. The factory is the first in Europe who produces gamesystems.
The Factory
The hungarion facility Flextronics has more dan 10.000 square meters of space for producing the Xbox. About 2000 work in this facility. The machines are running 24 hours a day, 5 days a week en should produce 2 Units per minute (15.000 units per week). Sandy Duncan :"Today is the birth of the Xbox in Europe!". "A lot of consoles for the European market will be produced here, it is a big day for games based in Europe. We are very proud to have the first facility that produces gamesystems in Europe. This way the stock of many retailers can be filled weekly from a local point. The console can be everywhere in Europe within 3 days. This is a big advantage for the gamers : This means no disappointments for the gamers on launchday en the following weeks. The European retailers en publishing partners profit from this weekly supply that should lead to a succesful launch in Europe on th 14th of march 2002.
