Matrix for GameCube?
I just read a report on Eurogamer.net saying GameCube could be getting a port (haha yes thats right, a port! A PORT!) "of their highly secretive lisensed Matrix game for GameCube."
A recent advert placed by Dave Perry?s illustrious firm sought after experienced coders for an unspecified GameCube project. Cloudchaser Nintendo believes this is tantamount to proof of the existence of a GameCube project at Shiny.
Yeah yeah, yeah, thats nice. Listen, I hate to disappoint GameCube consumers but Microsoft has given $5 million (all in green, just like the Xbox) to Interplay, the publisher of Shinys Matrix, in exchange for the Matrix video game being exclusive to Xbox for about six months. The game will feature online play through the Xbox (ooo thats bad for GameCube), and more extras such as Woo Ping choreography, the actual actors providing voices to the characters, and more music tracks from the films composer in addition to more vehicles, weapons, and video that other console versions wont be getting (ooo thats bad too. Im sorry, do I sound biased? Well, I cant compare with Eurogamer). Only Xbox will be the console to get online play out of the Matrix game, and thats essential cuz going online was a big theme in the movie. Interplay will be spending US$500,000 to make it a damn pleasing online play experience too.
Also, other than recieving Xbox exclusivity for six months, Microsoft will be payed $5 to $7 per unit of Xbox software from Interplay as their royalty to Microsoft. The game should release no more than three months after The Matrix II is released in theaters next summer. So with your Xbox, The Matrix DVD that you can play on your Xbox, and The Matrix II in theatres, this summer should be good.
