Xbox Prices Down Under
Being Australian I thought I would take it upon myself to look into the released prices (RRP) of some Xbox hardware and see how much Australians are paying compared to Americans. The results are quite interesting.
Console
US: $299
AU: $649
After conversion US = $67.85AUD or $34.90US cheaper
Controller
AU: $69.95
US: $39.99
After conversion AU = $7.80AUD or $4.00US cheaper
Games
US: $49.99
AU: $99.95
After conversion US = $2.75AUD or $1.41US cheaper
Memory Unit
AU: $59.95
US: $34.99
After conversion AU = $8.10AUD or $4.17US cheaper
System Link Cable
US: $14.99
AU: $29.95
After conversion US = $0.80AUD or $0.41US cheaper
DVD Remote
AU: $49.95
US: $29.99
After conversion AU = $8.35AU or $4.29US cheaper
RF Adapter
AU: $29.95
US: $19.99
After conversion AU = $8.90AU or $4.58US cheaper
Advanced And High Definition AV Pack
US: $19.99
AU: $39.95
After conversion US = $1.05AU or $0.54US cheaper
In conclusion most prices are very similar, and with the value of the dollar always changing the cost of the games, link cable, RF Adapter, advanced AV pack and high definition AV Pack are all basically the same price. However the console itself is a significant amount cheaper in US, and the controller, memory unit and DVD remote are all cheaper in Australia.
