XBOX delays for Japan?!
Due to the lack of promotion and the usual shroud of secrecy from Microsoft, industry analysts and executives say the XBOX may be delayed until 2002 for release in Japan. Several factors are offered to the delay speculation of which one stands out the most.Microsoft may face delays in Japan because many game companies there have yet to embrace Xbox, executives said. Only Tokyo-based Konami Corp. has publicly identified game titles its developing for the system. Microsoft needs home-grown games because Japanese users have different tastes than users in the U.S.With the XBOX team having delays on the network code for the XBOX, no broadband titles at launch, and several other factors being thrown into the mix, be prepared for delays.
