Unreal II and Tech stuff

Two bits of news surfaced recently regarding the facial animation technology for the new Unreal Engine, and a look at the upcoming Unreal II title in development by Legend Entertainment.

On the Epic Games website a post was made regarding the new model exporters that will be available for licensees to be used in the two top 3D applications Discreet’s 3D Studio Max and Alias|Wavefront’s Maya. Most impotant to the exporters is the ability to animate the facial expressions of the models right down to blinking eyes and eyebrow movement. Technology such as this begins the steps to lifelike animation and visuals. Be sure to head over and check out the goodness.
