Bethesda: Hard Drive Recommended, Not Required
If youre a fan of the Elder Scrolls series of games and plan on purchasing an Xbox 360 this November, you might want to re-think getting the "core" version, that is if you plan on playing Oblivion. In an interview with Game Informer, Producer at Bethesda (developers of Oblivion) Todd Howard has shed some light on the subject. Weve known since day one that there would be versions of the 360 without a hard drive, so Oblivion will still work on every 360," assures Todd Howard, executive producer at Bethesda. "That being said, Oblivion takes full advantage of the hard drive and uses it extensively, so wed certainly recommend that everyone gets one. There it is from the horses speak-hole, if you wanna play Oblivion, youre advised to go for the more expensive "premium" Xbox 360 package, which weighs in at a hefty USD 399.99/Euro 399.99/UKP 279.99.Source: http://www.igniq.com/
