Lost Odyssey Demo Due In Late Spring/Early Summer
Microsoft showed off a new trailer for Mistwalkers Lost Odyssey at last weeks Jump Festival, but much to our disappointment, the footage consisted mostly of conceptual situations, with zero gameplay. Not to fear, though. Development on Lost Odyssey is coming along. Its so far along, in fact, that, according to the latest issue of Famitsu, Mistwalker will be distributing a playable demo version of the game to the Japanese market some time between spring and summer of 2006. Regarding this announcement, company president Hironobu Sakaguchi comments to the magazine, "Were currently concentrating on developing the demo version. Youll be able to play mostly scenes near the beginning of the adventure." Sakaguchi has previously made reference to a demo version of the title, but this is the first time weve heard of a time frame for its release. The timing suggests that we can expect a playable version to appear at E3 in May of next year. Famitsu also has a screen shot which it claims to have been rendered on a real Xbox 360 dev kit. The shot shows the heroine, Seth, standing against a mountaintop background, the sparkling sea and a colorful sky visible in the distance. The screen shot is tiny, but the amount of detail and color in the shot is impressive, and leaves us wanting to get our hands on the game as soon as possible.Source: http://www.ign.com/
