Got Final SDK??
Financial Times reported a few days ago (quite a few sites missed this one) about developers concerns regarding the final SDKs or the "lack of" should I say. The problem seems to only be for third party developers for the XBOX. According to Robbie Bach, Microsofts chief Xbox officer, some software developers had not yet received the kits. But he insisted that the company was on schedule and had managed to ship some final development kits last week.Powerhouse companies such as Electronic Arts and Inforgrames talked with FT about the need for final software to get their launch titles ready for the November release.
"The beta systems have not yet been sent. We need them so we can polish the games," complained Larry Probst, chairman and chief executive of Electronic Arts. His company plans to have one or two games ready for the launch of the Xbox, and a further eight or nine by March 2002. "Microsoft has a lot to do over the next few months. They are on a death march right now."
The time is steadily ticking as the countdown continues for the ultimate battle to be seen in the never ending console wars. Be sure to head over and check out the rest of the article.
