TGS: Microsoft Reveals Massive Line-Up
Ninja Gaiden 2 has been confirmed as an Xbox 360 exclusive by Microsoft at its pre- Tokyo Game Show event earlier today. Joining the announcement from Team Ninja and Tecmo was news from Square Enix on two RPGs for Microsofts console - Infinite Undiscovery and The Last Remnant. Ninja Gaiden 2 will find players reprising the role of Ryu Hayabusa "as they guide the ninja hero on a quest to avenge his clan and prevent the destruction of the human race," Microsoft has explained. The sequel is set to release next year. During Microsofts event, release dates were also confirmed for Mistwalkers Lost Odyssey RPG, which has been created by father of Final Fantasy Hironobu Sakaguchi. Itll release on December 6 in Japan and in February 2008 in North America and Europe. Xbox Live Arcade wasnt to be left out the limelight either, among the highlights the revelation that Treasures hardcore shoot-em-up Ikaruga will release soon on the platform along with confirmation that Tetsuya Mizuguchis Rez is hitting Xbox Live Arcade too. Other XBLA titles mentioned include Every Extend Extra Extreme from Q Entertainment, puzzle game EXIT from Taito, shooter Omega Five from Hudson, shoot-em-up Triggerheart Exelica from Warashi (out this year), platform-puzzler Braid (out 2008), four-player RPG Castlecrashers (out 2008) and action game Schizoid (out this year). Ninja Gaiden 2 and the two new Square Enix games are obviously the big boys to catch our attention, but a couple of other new Xbox 360 games were announced - presumably only to release in Japan. They are (drum roll) Castle Shikigami III from AcrSystem Works and Zoids Alternative from Tomy. Microsoft-orientated coverage of the Tokyo Game Show is appearing on Xbox Live in TGS Bring It Home, the company promising itll deliver "hours of coverage from the press briefing, all the best highlights from the show floor, interviews with developers, gameplay videos, exclusive cinematic trailers and a variety of Xbox 360 content for gamers to download over Xbox Live Marketplace". That all kicks off tomorrow.Source: http://www.computerandvideogames.com
