Sensible World of Soccer Pulled from Xbox Live
After an eternal wait for Sensible World of Soccer to arrive on Xbox Live Arcade, its finally arrived this morning only to be pulled from XBL hours after its release.
The problem is all down to a bug in the game that signs you out of Xbox Live and refuses to let you sign back in until you manually returned to the dashboard. Youd think Codies wouldve had time to test this stuff in its massive dev time, but obviously not.
After an explosion of complaints on the Codemasters and Official Xbox websites Sensi has been pulled from Xbox Live Marketplace with no word on when itll return. Yet again were left waiting.
Microsoft said in a statement: "It has come to our attention that an incorrect version of Sensible World of Soccer was made available on Xbox LIVE Arcade... which has since been taken down. This version incorrectly disconnected users that attempted to connect to Xbox LIVE.
"We are currently investigating the issue and will have a correctly functioning version of Sensible World of Soccer available soon.
"Any users that have already downloaded Sensible World of Soccer will need to delete their copy of the game and download it again when the correctly functioning version is available in order to enjoy online play via Xbox LIVE. Following this process does not incur any additional charges.
"Please look out for the fully functional version of Sensible World of Soccer soon. We thank you for your patience."
In the meantime this weeks arcade line-up leaves us with Tempest, which at least isnt as expensive (and confusing) as Minters copy cat Space Giraffe. Hopefully, itll be back soon.
UPDATE:
"Codemasters is aware of the issue, and we are disappointed as anyone that SWOS appears to have picked up a niggling little injury this close to kick off. Rest assured were pulling out all the stops to resolve the issue in co-operation with Microsoft, and well keep our loyal fanbase posted as to developments. We can only apologise, and ask gamers to bear with us for a little while longer."
