Microsoft Working To Restore Xbox DLC
Downloadable content for original Xbox titles is currently unavailable over Xbox Live, but Microsoft says that it is working to resolve the problem.
With Live support for original Xbox titles set to be discontinued in April despite the presence of active users, numerous gamers attempting to enjoy a final hurrah with the service have been unable to download additional content for their ageing titles.
"We are aware that Xbox v1 users are currently unable to access downloadable content via Xbox Live, both for the original console and Xbox Originals on Xbox 360,” Microsoft said in an email to Joystiq.
“The team is actively working on resolving this issue so that the Xbox v1 community can continue downloading content until April 15."
Earlier this week Halo developer Bungie said that it was saddened by the news of the original Xbox Live service’s impending closure. Microsoft labelled the decision a tough one, but claimed that it will “provide the greatest benefit to the Xbox Live community”.
Update: Microsofts Major Nelson has said that the DLC is back online: "If youre looking for the DLC for Original Xbox games, it should be back available on Xbox Live. Thanks for waiting."
