I found a interesting article I found it probably means nothing but it kinda raised my concern on the success on the xbox! I think alot of companys are out to get Microsoft! It is to bad if the xbox dosn't make it because it will drown out all innovation!
Microsoft CEO Rick Belluzo, the man responsible alongside J Allard for launching Xbox around the world, has, to the surprise of the games industry, throw in the metaphorical towel of gaming retirement and resigned from his post.
Belluzo, responsible for numerous other Microsoft initiatives including MSN Messenger, helped to ensure a successful Xbox US launch, as well as aided in the machine’s release in Europe, Australia and Japan.
No specific reason for his departure was given, although current industry speculation points the finger at the relatively poor performance of the console in Japan and Europe. Currently Japanese retailers are selling six times more GameCubes than Xboxes, and - rather more embarassingly, last week Xbox sold just 4000 units compared to PS2's 100,000.
While Belluzo will apparently remain at Microsoft until September in a bid to ease his successor into his role, it is uncertain whether there is anyone who can reverse the system's fortunes - in Japan at least. According to Makoto Suzuki at chuo Mitsui Asset Management Co., "Investors already think Xbox is irrelevant in the Japanese market. Sony is now the maker of choice among owners of home use game consoles."
We’ll bring you more as we get it.
