    Default No!!!

This week has sucked. First my computer broke, and now my Xbox. I think that I am either going to have to get a brand new Xbox or buy a warranty. It won't read any disks. Has this happened to anyone else?

Let me guess... you bought yours fairly early. See the thread (should still be on the first page of this forum) called "Question". I explained what was wrong with the original drives and why they fail to read discs.

EDIT - sorry to hear about your crappy week!

EDIT EDIT - I JUST GAVE YOU THE WRONG THREAD!!! Sorry... The thread is actually right here.

No problem! If you have a warranty, you might be covered... if not, I think the cost of the drive-swapping was about $50, but don't quote me on that. Whatever it is, it's cheaper than a brand new box!

EDIT - Whoops... just noticed in your first post that you didn't have a warranty. I kan reed gud.

If it's only $50, then I'm not really worried, but I heard someone say $100, but he wasn't sure if he was right or not. I'm gonna call 1-800-4MY-XBOX today and find out the price.

Just take it to Walmart and say you bought it there yesterday or last week and its not working and you want a exchange.

There's another 25$ for just one though, and you can only use the card once because you won't get the second X-box till you exchange.

youd have to buy like twenty memory cards to do that. Just hook it up to your computer and back up all your files there

same problem here with that dirty disk crap. I really ruined some gaming experiences for me.

I was adviced to stick a pen cap in the little slot above the words xbox on the console. I have been doing it, but I don't know if it is doing much....
